ராஜாவினால் பெல்தெஷாத்சாரென்னும் பேரிடப்பட்ட அந்த தானியேலுக்குள் சொப்பனங்களை வியார்த்திபண்ணுகிறதும், புதைபொருள்களை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறதும், கருகலானவைகளைத் தெளிவிக்கிறதுமான அறிவும் புத்தியும் விசேஷித்த ஆவியும் உண்டென்று காணப்பட்டது; இப்போதும் தானியேல் அழைக்கப்படட்டும், அவன் அர்த்தத்தை வெளிப்படுத்துவான் என்றாள்.

ராஜாவினால் பெல்தெஷாத்சாரென்னும் பெயரிடப்பட்ட அந்த தானியேலுக்குள் கனவுகளை விளக்கிச்சொல்கிறதும், புதை பொருள்களை வெளிப்படுத்துகிறதும், கடினமானவைகளைத் தெளிவிக்கிறதுமான அறிவும், புத்தியும், விசேஷித்த ஆவியும் உண்டென்று காணப்பட்டது; இப்போதும் தானியேல் அழைக்கப்படட்டும், அவன் அர்த்தத்தை சொல்வான் என்றாள்.

நான் சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருக்கிற அவனுடைய பெயர் தானியேல். அரசர் அவனுக்கு பெல்தெஷாத்சார் என்று பெயரிட்டார். பெல்தெஷாத்சார் மிக சுறுசுறுப்புடையவன். அவனுக்குப் பல செய்திகள் தெரியும். அவனால் கனவின் பலன்களும், இரகசியங்களின் விளக்கமும், கடினமான விஷயங்களுக்குத் தீர்வுகளும் தெரியும். தானியேலைக் கூப்பிடு, அவனால் சுவர் மேல் எழுதியுள்ளவற்றுக்கு விளக்கம் சொல்லமுடியும்” என்றாள்.

அந்தத் தானியேல் வியத்தகு விவேகமும் அறிவும் உடையவன்; கனவுகளுக்கு விளக்கம் கூறும் அறிவாற்றல் படைத்தவன்; விடுகதைகளுக்கு விடைகூறும் ஆற்றல் உடையவன்; சிக்கல்களைத் தீர்க்கும் திறமை வாய்ந்தவன்; அவனுக்கு அரசர் ‘பெல்தெசாச்சார்’ என்று பெயரிட்டுள்ளார். அவன் உடனே இங்கு அழைக்கப்படட்டும்; அவன் விளக்கம் கூறுவான்” என்றாள்.⒫

Raajaavinaal peltheshaathsaarennum paeridappatta antha thaaniyaelukkul soppanangalai viyaarththipannnukirathum, puthaiporulkalai velippaduththukirathum, karukalaanavaikalaith thelivikkirathumaana arivum puththiyum viseshiththa aaviyum unndentu kaanappattathu; ippothum thaaniyael alaikkappadattum, avan arththaththai velippaduththuvaan ental.
