“মনুষ্যসন্তান, নবূখদ্রিত্‌সর বাবিলের রাজা সোরের বিরুদ্ধে প্রবলভাবে তার সৈন্যদের দিয়ে যুদ্ধ করিযেছিলেন| তারা প্রত্যেক সৈন্যের মাথা কামিয়েছিল| ভারী মাল বহন করা কালীন ঘর্ষন দ্বারা প্রত্যেক সৈন্য নগ্ন হয়েছিল| নবূখদ্রিত্‌সর ও তার সেনাদল সোরকে পরাজিত করতে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করেছিল কিন্তু তারা সেই সব কঠোর পরিশ্রম দ্বারা কিছুই লাভ করেনি|”

এজেকিয়েল 26:7
প্রভু আমার সদাপ্রভু এই কথাগুলি বলেন, “আমি উত্তর দিক থেকে সোরের বিরুদ্ধে এক শএু আনব| সেই শএু নবূখদ্রিত্‌সর, বাবিলের মহান রাজা! সে তার সঙ্গে আনবে বিরাট সৈন্যবাহিনী আর তাতে অশ্ব, অশ্বারোহী সৈন্য ও অনেক পদাতিক সৈন্য থাকবে! ঐ সৈন্যরা অন্য অনেক জাতি থেকে আসবে|

প্রত্যেকেই শোক পালনের উদ্দেশ্যে মাথা ন্যাড়া করেছে, দাড়ি কেটেছে, হাত কেটে রক্তপাত ঘটিযেছে| প্রত্যেকে শোকের পোশাক পরেছে|
