Nehemiah 8
1 শেষ পর্য়ন্ত বছরের সপ্তম মাসে ইস্রায়েলের সমস্ত বাসিন্দা এক জায়গায় জড়ো হল| এরা সকলে একই উদ্দেশ্য নিয়ে একত্রে এসেছিল য়েন জলদ্বারের সামনে খোলা চত্বরে তারা ছিল একটি মানুষ| এরা সকলে মিলে শিক্ষক ইষ্রাকে মোশির বিধিপুস্তকটি আনতে অনুরোধ করল| উল্লেখ্য প্রভু ইস্রায়েলের বাসিন্দাদের জন্য য়ে বিধিনির্দেশগুলি দেন তা এই গ্রন্থে লিপিবদ্ধ ছিল|
2 সকলের অনুরোধে ইষ্রা জনসমক্ষে বিধিপুস্তকটি বের করলেন| এটি ছিল সপ্তম মাসের প্রথম দিন; ঐ জনসমাগমে ছিল পুরুষ, মহিলা এবং ঈশ্বরের বিধি শোনা ও বোঝার মত বযস হয়েছে এমন ব্যক্তিরা|
3 ইষ্রা তখন জলদ্বারের সামনের খোলা চত্বরের দিকে মুখ করে জোর গলায ভোর থেকে শুরু করে দুপুর পর্য়ন্ত বিধিপুস্তকটি পাঠ করে শোনালেন| উপস্থিত সকলেই পূর্ণ মনোযোগ সহকারে তা শুনল|
4 ইষ্রা একটি উঁচু কাঠের মঞ্চের ওপর দাঁড়িয়ে এগুলি পাঠ করছিলেন| পাটাতনটি এই উপলক্ষেই বিশেষভাবে বানানো হয়েছিল| ইষ্রার ডানদিকে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলেন মত্তিথিয়, শেমা, অনায়, ঊরিয়, হিল্কিয় ও মাসেয় এবং তাঁর বাঁদিকে ছিলেন পদায়, মীশায়েল, মল্কিয়, হশুম, হশবদ্দানা, সখরিয় ও মশুল্লম|
5 য়েহেতু ইষ্রা উঁচু পাটাতনের ওপর দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলেন সকলেই তাঁকে দেখতে পাচ্ছিল| তিনি বিধিপুস্তকটি খোলার সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সমবেত সকলে উঠে দাঁড়াল|
6 প্রথমে ইষ্রা প্রভু, মহান ঈশ্বরের প্রশংসা করলেন| তখন উপস্থিত সবাই হাত তুলে বলল, “আমেন, আমেন|” তারপর মাথা নীচু করে হাঁটু মুড়ে বসে প্রভুর প্রশংসা করল|
7 ঐসব লেবীয়রা ছিলেন য়েশূয়, বানি, শেরেবিয়, যামীন, অক্কুব, শব্বথয়, হোদিয়, মাসেয়, কলীট, অসরীয, য়োষাবদ, হানন এবং পলায|
8 তাঁরা বিধিপুস্তকটি থেকে পাঠ করলেন এবং সহজ ভাষায় সেটি লোকদের বুঝিয়ে দিলেন যাতে যা পড়া হল তারা তার অর্থ বুঝতে পারে|
9 এরপর শাসক নহিমিয়, যাজক ও শিক্ষক ইষ্রা এবং য়ে সব লেবীয়রা শিক্ষাদান করছিলেন তাঁরা সকলে বক্তব্য রাখলেন| তাঁরা বললেন, “আজকের দিনটি তোমাদের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের পক্ষে একটি বিশেষ দিন|আজ য়েন কেউ মন খারাপ না করে বা চোখের জল না ফেলে|” তাঁদের একথা বলার কারণ হল য়ে: যখন তাঁরা ঈশ্বরের বিধিপুস্তকটি পড়ে শোনাচ্ছিলেন তখন অনেকেই কাঁদছিল|
10 নহিমিয় বললেন, “যাও তোমরা সকলে মশলাদার ভারী খাদ্য ও সুমিষ্ট পানীয়গুলি উপভোগ করো| আজকের দিনটি প্রভুর কাছে একটি বিশেষ দিন বলে যারা রান্না করেনি তাদেরও খাবার দিও| মন খারাপ করো না কারণ প্রভুর আনন্দ তোমাদের মনকে শক্তিশালী করবে|”
11 লেবীয়বর্গরা লোকদের শান্ত হতে সাহায্য করল| তারা বলল, “চুপ কর এবং শান্ত হও| আজ একটি বিশেষ দিন| মন খারাপ কর না|”
12 তখন উপস্থিত সবাই মিলে বিশেষ ভোজসভায় য়োগ দিয়ে খাবার ও পানীয় ভাগ করে খেল| প্রত্যেকেই খুব খুশী ছিল এবং সকলে মিলে এই বিশেষ দিনটি উদযাপন করল| শেষ পর্য়ন্ত শিক্ষকরা তাদের সকলকে প্রভুর য়ে সমস্ত বিধিগুলি বোঝানোর চেষ্টা করছিল তা বুঝতে পারল|
13 তারপর ঐ একই মাসের দ্বিতীয় দিনে প্রত্যেকটি পরিবার প্রধান ইষ্রা, যাজকবর্গ ও লেবীয়দের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গেল| সকলেই বিধিগুলি সম্পর্কে পড়াশোনা করার জন্য ইষ্রাকে ঘিরে ধরল|
14 বিধিগুলি পড়াশোনা করার পর তারা, মোশির মাধ্যমে প্রভু ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের, বছরের সপ্তম মাসে কুটির থেকে য়ে একটি উত্সব পালন করবার আজ্ঞা দিয়েছিলেন, তা জানতে পারল|
15 জেরুশালেমে ফেরবার পথে, তারা বিভিন্ন শহরের মধ্যে দিয়ে য়েতে য়েতে, লোকদের বলবে: “পর্বত থেকে জলপাই, গুলমেঁদি ও খর্জুর এবং ছায়া শাখাগুলি কাট| বিধিটিতে য়েমন বলা আছে ঐ শাখাগুলি ব্যবহার করে পর্ব পালন করবার জন্য অস্থায়ী কুটির তৈরী কর|” বিধিতে য়েমন বলা আছে তেমন ভাবে কর|
16 একথা শোনার পর লোকরা গিয়ে এই সব গাছের শাখা সংগ্রহ করে নিজেরা নিজেদের জন্য অস্থায়ী কুটির বানালো| তারা তাদের বাড়ির ছাদে, উঠোনে, মন্দির প্রাঙ্গনে, জলদ্বারের কাছে ও ইফ্রয়িম-দ্বারের কাছে উন্মুক্ত স্থানে কুটিরগুলি বানালো|
17 বন্দীদশা থেকে ইস্রায়েলে ফিরে আসা সমস্ত ব্যক্তিরাই এই কুটিরগুলি বানিয়ে তাতে বাস করল| নূনের পুত্র যিহোশূয়ের সময় থেকে সেই দিন পর্য়ন্ত ইস্রায়েলীয়রা এরকম ভাবে ও এত আনন্দ করে কুটির পর্ব পালন করে নি!
18 পর্বের প্রত্যেকদিন, প্রথম দিন থেকে শেষ দিন পর্য্য়ন্ত রোজ ইষ্রা এদের কাছে বিধিপুস্তক পাঠ করে শোনালেন| বিধি অনুসারে ইস্রায়েলের বাসিন্দারা সাতদিন ধরে পর্ব পালন করার পর, অষ্টম দিনের দিন একটি বিশেষ সভার জন্য মিলিত হল|
1 And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the Lord had commanded to Israel.
2 And Ezra the priest brought the law before the congregation both of men and women, and all that could hear with understanding, upon the first day of the seventh month.
3 And he read therein before the street that was before the water gate from the morning until midday, before the men and the women, and those that could understand; and the ears of all the people were attentive unto the book of the law.
4 And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which they had made for the purpose; and beside him stood Mattithiah, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right hand; and on his left hand, Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchiah, and Hashum, and Hashbadana, Zechariah, and Meshullam.
5 And Ezra opened the book in the sight of all the people; (for he was above all the people;) and when he opened it, all the people stood up:
6 And Ezra blessed the Lord, the great God. And all the people answered, Amen, Amen, with lifting up their hands: and they bowed their heads, and worshipped the Lord with their faces to the ground.
7 Also Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, caused the people to understand the law: and the people stood in their place.
8 So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.
9 And Nehemiah, which is the Tirshatha, and Ezra the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto the Lord your God; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law.
10 Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
11 So the Levites stilled all the people, saying, Hold your peace, for the day is holy; neither be ye grieved.
12 And all the people went their way to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great mirth, because they had understood the words that were declared unto them.
13 And on the second day were gathered together the chief of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to understand the words of the law.
14 And they found written in the law which the Lord had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths in the feast of the seventh month:
15 And that they should publish and proclaim in all their cities, and in Jerusalem, saying, Go forth unto the mount, and fetch olive branches, and pine branches, and myrtle branches, and palm branches, and branches of thick trees, to make booths, as it is written.
16 So the people went forth, and brought them, and made themselves booths, every one upon the roof of his house, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the street of the water gate, and in the street of the gate of Ephraim.
17 And all the congregation of them that were come again out of the captivity made booths, and sat under the booths: for since the days of Jeshua the son of Nun unto that day had not the children of Israel done so. And there was very great gladness.
18 Also day by day, from the first day unto the last day, he read in the book of the law of God. And they kept the feast seven days; and on the eighth day was a solemn assembly, according unto the manner.

1 ಆದರೆ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿ ಯರ ಸೀಮೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ತಿಂಗಳು ಇತ್ತು.
And the ark of the Lord was in the country of the Philistines seven months.
2 ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಪೂಜಾರಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಣಿ ಹೇಳುವ ವರನ್ನೂ ಕರಿಸಿ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ನಾವೇನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು? ನಾವು ಅದನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ಅದರ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವದು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿರಿ ಅಂದರು.
And the Philistines called for the priests and the diviners, saying, What shall we do to the ark of the Lord? tell us wherewith we shall send it to his place.
3 ಅದಕ್ಕವ ರು--ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕಳುಹಿಸಬೇಕಾದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಬರಿದಾಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸದೆ ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ನಿಶ್ಚಯವಾಗಿ ಅಪರಾಧ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ; ಆಗ ನೀವು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಡುವಿರಿ. ಆತನ ಕೈ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗದೆ ಇರುವ ಕಾರಣ ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಲ್ಪಡುವದು ಅಂದರು.
And they said, If ye send away the ark of the God of Israel, send it not empty; but in any wise return him a trespass offering: then ye shall be healed, and it shall be known to you why his hand is not removed from you.
4 ಆಗ ಅವರು--ಅಪ ರಾಧ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾಗಿ ನಾವು ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ಕಳುಹಿಸ ತಕ್ಕದ್ದೇನು ಅಂದರು. ಅದಕ್ಕವರು--ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಅಧಿ ಪತಿಗಳ ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಒಬ್ಬೊಬ್ಬರಿಗೆ ಗಡ್ಡೆವ್ಯಾಧಿಯ ವಿಧವಾದ ಐದು ಬಂಗಾರದ ಗಡ್ಡೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಐದು ಇಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ; ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮೆ ಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ತರವಾದ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯು ಅದೆ.
Then said they, What shall be the trespass offering which we shall return to him? They answered, Five golden emerods, and five golden mice, according to the number of the lords of the Philistines: for one plague was on you all, and on your lords.
5 ಆದದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗಡ್ಡೆವ್ಯಾಧಿಯ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಭೂಮಿಯನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಇಲಿ ಗಳ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೀವು ಮಾಡಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಬೇಕು. ಆಗ ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಆತನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಇರುವ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಯನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಹಗುರಮಾಡುವನು.
Wherefore ye shall make images of your emerods, and images of your mice that mar the land; and ye shall give glory unto the God of Israel: peradventure he will lighten his hand from off you, and from off your gods, and from off your land.
6 ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯರೂ ಫರೋಹನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಹಾಗೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನು ಕಠಿಣಪಡಿಸುವದೇನು? ಯಾಕಂದರೆ ಆತನು ಅವರ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಶ್ಚರ್ಯವಾದ ಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದಾಗ ಅವರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ಯರನ್ನು ಹೋಗುವ ಹಾಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?
Wherefore then do ye harden your hearts, as the Egyptians and Pharaoh hardened their hearts? when he had wrought wonderfully among them, did they not let the people go, and they departed?
7 ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನೀವು ಒಂದು ಹೊಸ ಬಂಡಿಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ಹೊರದೆ ಇರುವ ಹಾಲು ಕರೆಯುವ ಎರಡು ಹಸುಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಡಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅವುಗಳ ಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವುಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋಗದ ಹಾಗೆ ಮನೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು
Now therefore make a new cart, and take two milch kine, on which there hath come no yoke, and tie the kine to the cart, and bring their calves home from them:
8 ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು, ಬಂಡಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟು ನೀವು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಕೊಡುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಪರಾಧ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಯಾದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಆಭರಣಗಳನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ; ಆಗ ನೋಡಿರಿ.
And take the ark of the Lord, and lay it upon the cart; and put the jewels of gold, which ye return him for a trespass offering, in a coffer by the side thereof; and send it away, that it may go.
9 ಅದು ತನ್ನ ಮೇರೆಯಾದ ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಹೋದರೆ ಆತನು ಈ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ನಮಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೋದರೆ ಆತನ ಹಸ್ತವು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಅದು ನಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಿಯಾಯಿತೆಂದು ತಿಳುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ ಅಂದರು.
And see, if it goeth up by the way of his own coast to Beth-shemesh, then he hath done us this great evil: but if not, then we shall know that it is not his hand that smote us; it was a chance that happened to us.
10 ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಆ ಪ್ರಕಾರವೇ ಎರಡು ಕರೆ ಯುವ ಹಸುಗಳನ್ನು ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಂಡಿಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿ ಅವುಗಳ ಕರುಗಳನ್ನು ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು
And the men did so; and took two milch kine, and tied them to the cart, and shut up their calves at home:
11 ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನೂ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಇಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಗಡ್ಡೆವ್ಯಾಧಿಯ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನೂ ಹಿಡಿಯುವ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಯನ್ನೂ ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟರು.
And they laid the ark of the Lord upon the cart, and the coffer with the mice of gold and the images of their emerods.
12 ಆಗ ಹಸುಗಳು ಕೂಗುತ್ತಾ ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಮಾರ್ಗವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಬಲಕ್ಕೆ ಎಡಕ್ಕೆ ತಿರುಗದೆ ಹೆದ್ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೋದವು; ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಮೇರೆಯವರೆಗೂ ಅವುಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದರು.
And the kine took the straight way to the way of Beth-shemesh, and went along the highway, lowing as they went, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left; and the lords of the Philistines went after them unto the border of Beth-shemesh.
13 ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಗೋಧಿಯ ಪೈರನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.
And they of Beth-shemesh were reaping their wheat harvest in the valley: and they lifted up their eyes, and saw the ark, and rejoiced to see it.
14 ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯು ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಊರಿನವನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತಿತು.
And the cart came into the field of Joshua, a Beth-shemite, and stood there, where there was a great stone: and they clave the wood of the cart, and offered the kine a burnt offering unto the Lord.
15 ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲು ಇತ್ತು. ಆಗ ಅವರು ಆ ಬಂಡಿಯ ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸೀಳಿ ಹಸು ಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು. ಲೇವಿಯರು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನೂ ಅದರ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಕಾಣಿಕೆಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಚಿಕ್ಕ ಪೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ಇಳಿಸಿ ಆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಮೇಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಆದರೆ ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನ ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ಆ ದಿವಸದಲ್ಲಿ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ದಹನಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಲಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿ ದರು.
And the Levites took down the ark of the Lord, and the coffer that was with it, wherein the jewels of gold were, and put them on the great stone: and the men of Beth-shemesh offered burnt offerings and sacrificed sacrifices the same day unto the Lord.
16 ಆದರೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಇವುಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಿರಿಗಿ ಎಕ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
And when the five lords of the Philistines had seen it, they returned to Ekron the same day.
17 ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಅಪರಾಧ ಬಲಿಗಾಗಿ ಅಷ್ಡೋದಿ ನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಗಾಜಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಒಂದು ಅಷ್ಕೆಲೋನಿ ಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಒಂದು ಗತ್ನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಎಕ್ರೋನಿನಿಂದ ಒಂದು ಗಡ್ಡೆವ್ಯಾಧಿಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತದಿಂದ ಒಂದೊಂದು ಬಂಗಾರದ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸಿದರು.
And these are the golden emerods which the Philistines returned for a trespass offering unto the Lord; for Ashdod one, for Gaza one, for Askelon one, for Gath one, for Ekron one;
18 ಆದರೆ ಅವರು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ ಬಂಗಾರದ ಇಲಿಗಳು ಬೇತ್ಷೆಮೆಷಿನವನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ದಿನದ ವರೆಗೂ ಇರುವ ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷವನ್ನು ಇಳಿಸಿದ ಅಬೇಲೆಂಬ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ವರೆಗೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ಐದು ಮಂದಿ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳ ಬಲವುಳ್ಳ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳ, ಗ್ರಾಮಗಳ, ಲೆಕ್ಕಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದವು.
And the golden mice, according to the number of all the cities of the Philistines belonging to the five lords, both of fenced cities, and of country villages, even unto the great stone of Abel, whereon they set down the ark of the Lord: which stone remaineth unto this day in the field of Joshua, the Beth-shemite.
19 ಆದರೆ ಬೇತ್ಷೆ ಮೆಷಿನ ಜನರು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷದಲ್ಲಿ ನೋಡಿದ್ದ ರಿಂದ ಕರ್ತನು ಅವರೊಳಗೆ ಐವತ್ತು ಸಾವಿರದ ಎಪ್ಪತ್ತು ಮಂದಿಯನ್ನು ಸಾಯಿಸಿದನು.
And he smote the men of Beth-shemesh, because they had looked into the ark of the Lord, even he smote of the people fifty thousand and threescore and ten men: and the people lamented, because the Lord had smitten many of the people with a great slaughter.
20 ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಂಹಾರವಾಗಿ ಜನರನ್ನು ಕರ್ತನು ಸಾಯಿಸಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವರು ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟು--ಈ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದೇವರಾದ ಕರ್ತನ ಮುಂದೆ ನಿಲ್ಲತಕ್ಕವನಾರು? ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಯಿಂದ ಆತನು ಹೋಗತಕ್ಕ ಸ್ಥಳ ಯಾವದು ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And the men of Beth-shemesh said, Who is able to stand before this holy Lord God? and to whom shall he go up from us?
21 ಅವರು ಕಿರ್ಯತ್ಯಾರೀಮಿನ ನಿವಾಸಿಗಳಿಗೆ ದೂತ ರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ--ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಕರ್ತನ ಮಂಜೂಷ ವನ್ನು ತಿರಿಗಿ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ನೀವು ಇಳಿದು ಬಂದು ಅದನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿರಿ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು
And they sent messengers to the inhabitants of Kirjath-jearim, saying, The Philistines have brought again the ark of the Lord; come ye down, and fetch it up to you.
