“অনেক বড় বড় শক্তিশালী জাতির বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধে জয়ী হতে প্রভু তোমাদের সাহায্য করেছিলেন| প্রভু তাদের জোরপূর্বক তাড়িয়ে দিয়েছেন| কোন জাতিই তোমাদের পরাজিত করতে পারবে না|

মোশির সঙ্গে আমি য়েমন ছিলাম তোমার সঙ্গেও আমি ঠিক তেমনি থাকব| কেউ তোমাকে কোন দিন রুখতে পারবে না| আমি তোমাকে ছেড়ে কখনই যাব না| আমি তোমাকে কখনই ত্যাগ করব না|

বিধি পুস্তকে যা-যা লেখা আছে সর্বদাই সে সব মনে রেখো| ঐ পুস্তক দিন রাত পাঠ করো| তাহলে লিখিত নির্দেশগুলি তুমি নিশ্চয়ই পালন করতে পারবে| যদি এই কাজ সম্পূর্ণভাবে করতে পার তাহলে তুমি বুদ্ধিপূর্বক চলবে ও তুমি যা কিছু করবে তাতেই কৃতকার্য় হবে|

হিব্রোণে বসবাসকারী তিনটি অনাক পরিবারকে কালেব তাড়িয়ে দিলেন| ঐ তিনটি পরিবার হচ্ছে শেশয, অহীমান আর তল্ময| এরা সবাই অনাকীয় লোক|

তাই আমি খুব ধীরে ধীরে ঐ মানুষগুলোকে তোমাদের দেশ থেকে তাড়াব| তোমরাও ক্রমশঃ দেশের অভ্যন্তরে প্রবেশ করতে থাকবে আর আমিও ওদের একে একে তাড়াতে থাকব|

যোশুয়া 23:5
কিন্তু প্রভু তোমাদের ঈশ্বর সেখানকার লোকদের সেই জায়গা ছেড়ে দিতে বাধ্য করবেন| তোমরা সেই জায়গা অধিকার করবে| প্রভু তাদের সেখান থেকে বলপূর্বক বিদায করবেন| প্রভু, তোমাদের ঈশ্বর, তোমাদের জন্যে এই প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন|

যোশুয়া 21:43
ইস্রায়েলবাসীদের কাছে প্রভু য়ে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছিলেন তা তিনি পালন করলেন| তিনি তাঁর প্রতিশ্রুতি মতোই সব জমি জায়গা দিয়েছিলেন এবং লোকরা সেসব জায়গায় বসবাস করতে লাগল|

তাদের রাজাদের পরাজিত করতে প্রভু তোমাদের সাহায্য করবেন| তোমরা তাদের হত্যা করবে এবং তারা য়ে কখনও জীবিত ছিল সে কথা পৃথিবীর লোক ভুলে যাবে| তাদের বিনষ্ট করা পর্য়ন্ত কেউ তোমাদের থামাতে সক্ষম হবে না|
