James 2 - YLT (Bengali)

1 My brethren, hold not, in respect of persons, the faith of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ,আমার ভাই ও বোনেরা, তোমরা আমাদের মহিমাময় প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টেতে বিশ্বাসী, সুতরাং তোমরা পক্ষপাতিত্ব করো না৷

2 for if there may come into your synagogue a man with gold ring, in gay raiment, and there may come in also a poor man in vile raiment,মনে কর কোন ব্যক্তি হাতে সোনার আংটি ও পরনে দামী পোশাক পরে তোমাদের সভায় এল৷ সেই সময় একজন গরীব লোকও ময়লা পোশাক পরে সেখানে এল,

3 and ye may look upon him bearing the gay raiment, and may say to him, `Thou -- sit thou here well,' and to the poor man may say, `Thou -- stand thou there, or, Sit thou here under my footstool,' --যদি তোমরা সেই দামী পোশাক পরা মানুষটির দিকে বিশেষ নজর দিয়ে বল, ‘এই ভাল চেয়ারে বসুন;’ কিন্তু সেই গবীর লোকটিকে বল, ‘তুমি ওখানে দাঁড়াও!’ কিংবা ‘তুমি আমার এই পায়ের কাছে মাটিতে বস!’

4 ye did not judge fully in yourselves, and did become ill-reasoning judges.তাহলে তোমরা কি করছ? এক ব্যক্তি থেকে আরেকজনকে কি বেশী সম্মানের পাত্র বলে বিচার করছ না? তোমরা কি মন্দ মাপকাঠিতে লোকের বিচার করছ না?

5 Hearken, my brethren beloved, did not God choose the poor of this world, rich in faith, and heirs of the reign that He promised to those loving Him?আমার প্রিয় ভাই ও বোনেরা শোন, সংসারে যাঁরা গরীব, ঈশ্বর কি তাদের বিশ্বাসে ধনী হবার জন্য মনোনীত করেন নি? যাঁরা ঈশ্বরকে ভালবাসে তাদের য়ে রাজ্য দেবেন বলে তিনি প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছেন সেই রাজ্যের অধিকারী হবার জন্য এই গরীব লোকদের কি তিনি বেছে নেন নি?

6 and ye did dishonour the poor one; do not the rich oppress you and themselves draw you to judgment-seats;কিন্তু তোমরা সেই গরীব লোকটিকে কোন সম্মান দিলে না৷ ধনীরাই কি তোমাদের দাবিয়ে রাখে না? তারাই কি তোমাদের আদালতে টেনে নিয়ে যায় না?

7 do they not themselves speak evil of the good name that was called upon you?য়ে উত্তম নাম (যীশু) তোমাদের ওপর কীর্ত্তিত হয়েছে, তোমরা য়াঁর আপনজন, ধনীরাই কি সেই সম্মানিত নামের নিন্দা করে না?

8 If, indeed, royal law ye complete, according to the Writing, `Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself,' -- ye do well;সমস্ত বিধি-ব্যবস্থার উর্দ্ধে একটি বিধি আছে৷ এই রাজকীয় ব্যবস্থাটি শাস্ত্রে রয়েছে: ‘তোমরা প্রতিবেশীকে নিজের মতো ভালবাসবে৷’তোমরা যদি সেই বিধি-ব্যবস্থা পালন কর তবে ভালই করছ৷

9 and if ye accept persons, sin ye do work, being convicted by the law as transgressors;কিন্তু তোমরা যদি কারোর প্রতি পক্ষপাতিত্ব কর তবে তোমরা পাপ করছ; আর এই রাজকীয় ব্যবস্থা তোমাদের ঈশ্বরের বিধি-ব্যবস্থা ভঙ্গকারী হিসেবে দোষী সাব্যস্ত করবে৷

10 for whoever the whole law shall keep, and shall stumble in one `point', he hath become guilty of all;কেউ যদি সমস্ত ব্যবস্থা পালন করে ও তার মধ্যে কেবল যদি একটি ব্যবস্থা পালন করতে ব্যর্থ হয়, তবে সে সমস্ত ব্যবস্থা লঙঘন করার দোষে দোষী সাব্যস্ত হয়৷

11 for He who is saying, `Thou mayest not commit adultery,' said also, `Thou mayest do no murder;' and if thou shalt not commit adultery, and shalt commit murder, thou hast become a transgressor of law;ঈশ্বর বলেছেন, ‘ব্যভিচার করো না৷’আবার তিনিই বলেছেন, ‘নরহত্যা করো না৷’এবার তুমি যদি ব্যভিচার না করে নরহত্যা কর, তাহলেও তুমি একজন ঈশ্বরের বিধি-ব্যবস্থা ভঙ্গকারী৷

12 so speak ye and so do, as about by a law of liberty to be judged,য়ে ব্যবস্থা তোমাদের স্বাধীন করেছে তারই দ্বারা তোমাদের বিচার হবে, সুতরাং তোমরা য়ে কোন কাজ করার আগে ও কথা বলার পূর্বে এই সব স্মরণ কর৷

13 for the judgment without kindness `is' to him not having done kindness, and exult doth kindness over judgment.তোমাদের উচিত অপরের প্রতি দয়া করা, য়ে কারও প্রতি দয়া করে নি, ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে সে বিচারের সময় দয়া পাবে না৷ কিন্তু য়ে দয়া করেছে সে বিচারের সময় নির্ভয়ে দাঁড়াতে পারবে৷

14 What `is' the profit, my brethren, if faith, any one may speak of having, and works he may not have? is that faith able to save him?আমার ভাই ও বোনেরা, যদি কেউ বলে আমার বিশ্বাস আছে, অথচ সেই অনুসারে কোন কাজ না করে, তা হলে তার বিশ্বাসের কোন মূল্য নেই৷ সেই বিশ্বাস কি তাকে রক্ষা করতে পারবে? কখনই না৷

15 and if a brother or sister may be naked, and may be destitute of the daily food,ধর, কোন খ্রীষ্ট বিশ্বাসী ভাই বা বোনের অন্ন বস্ত্রের অভাব আছে,

16 and any one of you may say to them, `Depart ye in peace, be warmed, and be filled,' and may not give to them the things needful for the body, what `is' the profit?এই অবস্থায় তাকে কোন সাহায্য না করে তোমরা যদি মুখে বল, ‘ঈশ্বর তোমার সহায় হোন, খেয়ে পরে থাক৷’ কিন্তু তার উপকার করতে ঐ প্রযোজনীয় দ্রব্য না দাও তবে ঐসব কথার কি মূল্য আছে?

17 so also the faith, if it may not have works, is dead by itself.ঠিক সেইভাবে বিশ্বাস অনুযাযী যদি কোন কাজ না হয় তবে সে বিশ্বাস মৃত বলেই গন্য হয়৷ সেই বিশ্বাস শুধু বিশ্বাসই, তার বেশী কিছু নয়৷

18 But say may some one, Thou hast faith, and I have works, shew me thy faith out of thy works, and I will shew thee out of my works my faith:কিন্তু কেউ হয়তো বলবে, ‘তোমার বিশ্বাস আছে, আর আমার কাজ আছে৷ কাজ বাদ দিয়ে তোমার বিশ্বাস আমাকে দেখাও আর আমি আমার কাজের মধ্যে আমার বিশ্বাস তোমাকে দেখাব৷’

19 thou -- thou dost believe that God is one; thou dost well, and the demons believe, and they shudder!তুমি কি বিশ্বাস কর য়ে এক ঈশ্বর রয়েছেন? এমনকি ভূতরাও তা বিশ্বাস করে ও ভয়ে কাঁপে৷

20 And dost thou wish to know, O vain man, that the faith apart from the works is dead?ওহে মুর্খ মানুষ! কর্মবিহীন বিশ্বাস য়ে কোন কাজের নয়, তুমি কি চাও আমি তা প্রমাণ করি?

21 Abraham our father -- was not he declared righteous out of works, having brought up Isaac his son upon the altar?অব্রাহাম আমাদের পিতৃপুরুষ ছিলেন৷ যখন তিনি তাঁর পুত্র ইসহাককে যজ্ঞ বেদীর ওপর উত্‌সর্গ করেন, তখন তাঁর কাজের জন্য তিনি ঈশ্বরের কাছে স্বীকৃতি পান৷

22 dost thou see that the faith was working with his works, and out of the works the faith was perfected?কাজেই লক্ষ্য কর অব্রাহামের বিশ্বাস ও কর্ম একসাথে কাজ করেছিল এবং তাঁর বিশ্বাস কর্মের মধ্যে সম্পূর্ণ হয়েছিল৷

23 and fulfilled was the Writing that is saying, `And Abraham did believe God, and it was reckoned to him -- to righteousness;' and, `Friend of God' he was called.এইভাবে শাস্ত্রের সেই বাক্য পূর্ণ হল৷ য়েখানে বলা হয়েছে, ‘অব্রাহাম ঈশ্বরে বিশ্বাস রাখলেন৷ ঈশ্বরের কাছে সেই বিশ্বাস গ্রহণয়োগ্য হল এবং সেই বিশ্বাস অব্রাহাম ঈশ্বরের কাছে নির্দোষ গণিত হলেন;’ আর তাঁকে ‘ঈশ্বরের বন্ধু’ বলা হল৷

24 Ye see, then, that out of works is man declared righteous, and not out of faith only;তাহলে তোমরা দেখলে য়ে মানুষ তার কাজের মাধ্যমেই ঈশ্বরের কাছে নির্দোষ বলে গণিত হয়, কেবলমাত্র তার বিশ্বাসের দ্বারা নয়৷

25 and in like manner also Rahab the harlot -- was she not out of works declared righteous, having received the messengers, and by another way having sent forth?আর একটি দৃষ্টান্ত হিসাবে রাহবের কথা বলা য়েতে পারে৷ বেশ্য়া রাহব কি তার কাজের মাধ্যমেই ঈশ্বরের চোখে নির্দোষ গণিত হয় নি? সে গুপ্তচরদের (ঈশ্বরের লোক) লুকিয়ে রেখে পরে তাদের অন্য পথ দিয়ে নিরাপদে চলে য়েতে সাহায্য করেছিল৷

26 for as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also the faith apart from the works is dead.দেহের মধ্যে প্রাণ যখন থাকে না, তখন সেই দেহ য়েমন মৃত, তেমনি কর্মবিহীন বিশ্বাসও মৃত৷
