তখন এলামের একজন উত্তরপুরুষ য়িহীযেলের পুত্র শখনিয়, ইষ্রাকে বলল, “আমরা ঈশ্বরের আদেশ অমান্য করেছি এবং আমাদের আশেপাশে বসবাসকারী অন্যান্য জাতির বংশের লোকদের সঙ্গে বৈবাহিক সম্বন্ধ স্থাপন করেছি, তবুও আমার মনে হয় এখনো ইস্রায়েলের সব আশা হারিযে যায়নি|

এরপর ইম্মেরের পুত্র সাদোক নিজের বাড়ির সামনের দেওয়াল ও শখনিয়ের পুত্র শময়িয় দেওয়ালের তারপরের অংশটুকু মেরামত্‌ করে নিল| সে ছিল পূর্বদ্বারের জনৈক প্রহরী|
