নোহ এবং তাঁর পরিবার মহাপ্লাবন থেকে পরিত্রাণের জন্যে নৌকোতে প্রবেশ করলেন| নোহের সঙ্গে তাঁর স্ত্রী, তাঁর পুত্রেরা ও পুত্রবধূরা সবাই নৌকোতে ছিলেন|

তখন প্রভু নোহকে বললেন, “তুমি য়ে একজন সত্‌ মানুষ তা আমি লক্ষ্য করেছি| এমনকি এই য়ুগের দুষ্ট লোকদের মধ্যেও তুমি নিজেকে সত্‌ রেখেছ| সুতরাং তোমার পরিবারের সবাইকে নিয়ে তুমি গিয়ে নৌকোতে ওঠো|

Genesis 6:18
কিন্তু তোমার সঙ্গে আমার একটা বিশেষ চুক্তি হবে| তুমি, তোমার স্ত্রী, তোমার পুত্রেরা, তোমার পুত্রবধূরা - তোমরা সবাই ঐ নৌকোতে উঠবে|

1 Peter 3:20
সেই কারারুদ্ধ আত্মারা বহুকাল আগে নোহের সময়ে ঈশ্বরের অবাধ্য হয়েছিল৷ নোহের জাহাজ তৈরীর সময় ঈশ্বর তাদের জন্য ধৈর্য্য ধরে অপেক্ষা করছিলেন৷ সেই জাহাজে কেবল অল্প কিছু লোক (আট জন) জলের দ্বারা রক্ষা পেল৷

Hebrews 11:7
বিশ্বাসেই নোহ, যা যা কখনও দেখা যায় নি এমন সব বিষয়ে তাকে সতর্ক করে দেওয়া হলে তিনি তা গুরুত্ব সহকারে নিলেন এবং নোহ তাঁর পরিবারের রক্ষার জন্য এক জাহাজ নির্মাণ করলেন৷ এর দ্বারা তিনি (অবিশ্বাসী) জগতকে দোষী প্রতিপন্ন করলেন, আর বিশ্বাসের মাধ্যমে য়ে ধার্মিকতা লাভ হয় তার অধিকারী হলেন৷

Hebrews 6:18
ঈশ্বরের প্রতিশ্রুতি ও শপথ কখনও বদলায় না৷ ঈশ্বর মিথ্যা কথা বলেন না ও শপথ করার সময়ে ছল করেন না৷ অতএব আমরা যাঁরা নিরাপত্তার জন্যে ঈশ্বরের কাছে ছুটে যাই, তাদের পক্ষে এই বিষয়গুলি বড় সান্ত্বনার৷ ঐ বিষয় দুটি ঈশ্বরের প্রদত্ত আশাতে জীবন অতিবাহিত করার জন্য আমাদের সান্ত্বনা ও শক্তি য়োগাবে৷

40 দিন 40 রাত ধরে সমানে বৃষ্টি হলো| সেই দিনটিতেই নোহ ও তাঁর স্ত্রী এবং তাঁদের তিন পুত্র শেম, হাম, য়েফত্‌ আর তাদের তিন স্ত্রী সকলেই নৌকোয প্রবেশ করল|
