কনান দেশের লোকরা গোরেন আটদের সেই অন্ত্যোষ্টি ক্রিয়া দেখে বললেন, “মিশরীয়দের এ দারুণ বিষাদময় শোকের অনুষ্ঠান!” সেইজন্য য়র্দ্দন নদীর পারের সেই জায়গার নাম হল আবেল্-মিস্রযীম|

Numbers 19:11
যদি কোনো ব্যক্তি কোনো মৃতদেহ স্পর্শ করে, তাহলে সে সাতদিন পর্য়ন্ত অশুচি থাকবে|

ইস্রায়েলের লোকরা 30 দিন ধরে মোশির জন্য শোক করেছিলেন| সেই শোকের সময় কেটে না যাওয়া পর্য়ন্ত তারা মোয়াব দেশের যর্দন উপত্যকায কাটালেন|
