Genesis 35:7
যাকোব সেই জায়গায় একটি বেদী তৈরী করে তার নাম রাখল “এল্ বৈথেল|” যাকোব এই নাম বেছে নিল কারণ ভাইয়ের কাছ থেকে পালিয়ে যাবার সময় এইখানে ঈশ্বর তাঁর সামনে আবির্ভূত হয়েছিলেন|

আমরা এই জায়গা ছেড়ে বৈথেলে যাব| সেখানেই আমি আমার ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে একটি বেদী তৈরী করব, এই ঈশ্বরই সঙ্কটের সময় আমায় সাহায্য করেছিলেন| আমি যেখানেই গিয়েছি সেখানেই এই ঈশ্বর আমার সঙ্গে গিয়েছেন|”
Genesis 28:19
সেই জায়গার নাম ছিল লুস কিন্তু যাকোব তার নাম বৈথেল রাখল|

এই পাথর আমি স্মৃতিস্তম্ভ রূপে স্থাপন করছি| এটা প্রমাণ করবে য়ে এ জায়গা ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে এবং পবিত্র জায়গা| এবং ঈশ্বর আমাকে যা কিছু দেবেন তার দশ ভাগের এক ভাগ অংশ আমি ঈশ্বরকে দেব|”
Exodus 17:15
এরপর মোশি একটি বেদী তৈরী করল| সেই বেদীর নাম হল “প্রভুই আমার পতাকা|”
Judges 6:24
অতঃপর গিদিয়োন সেই জায়গায় প্রভুর উপাসনার জন্য একটি বেদী তৈরী করলেন| সে বেদীর নাম দিলেন, “প্রভুই শান্তি|” অফ্রা শহরে সেই বেদী আজও রযেছে| এখানেই অবীযেষ্রীযদের বংশের লোকরা বসবাস করে|
Ecclesiastes 5:4
তুমি ঈশ্বরকে কোন প্রতিশ্রুতি দিলে তা অবশ্যই রক্ষা করবে| তোমার প্রতিশ্রুতি রক্ষা করতে দেরী কোরো না| ঈশ্বর মূর্খদের প্রতি প্রসন্ন নন| তুমি ঈশ্বরকে যা দেবে বলে প্রতিশ্রুতি দিয়েছ তা দাও|
Ezekiel 48:35
“শহরের চারধারে দূরত্ব হবে 18,000 হাত আর এখন থেকে শহরের নাম হবে: ‘প্রভু তত্র’|”
