আমি তোমার বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করবার জন্য বিদেশীদের আনব| তারা জাতিগণের মধ্যে বড় ভয়ঙ্কর| তারা খাপ থেকে তরবারি টেনে বের করবে এবং তোমার সুন্দর জিনিসগুলির ওপর, যেগুলি তোমার প্রজ্ঞা থেকে অর্জিত, তার ওপর ব্যবহার করবে| তারা তোমার গৌরবও ধ্বংস করে দেবে|

Habakkuk 1:6
আমি বাবিলবাসীদের শক্তিশালী জাতিতে পরিণত করবো| ঐসব মানুষরা খুবই নীচ এবং শক্তিশালী য়োদ্ধা| তারা পৃথিবীর এক প্রান্ত থেকে অপর প্রান্তে দাপিযে ঘুরে বেড়ায| অপরের ঘরবাড়ি ও শহরগুলি তারা অধিকার করে নেবে|

প্রভু আমার সদাপ্রভু এই কথাগুলি বলেন, “আমি উত্তর দিক থেকে সোরের বিরুদ্ধে এক শএু আনব| সেই শএু নবূখদ্রিত্‌সর, বাবিলের মহান রাজা! সে তার সঙ্গে আনবে বিরাট সৈন্যবাহিনী আর তাতে অশ্ব, অশ্বারোহী সৈন্য ও অনেক পদাতিক সৈন্য থাকবে! ঐ সৈন্যরা অন্য অনেক জাতি থেকে আসবে|

শক্তিমান দেশগুলি আপনাকে শ্রদ্ধা করবে, সম্মান জানাবে| শক্তিশালী শহরের ক্ষমতাবান লোকরা আপনাকে ভয় পাবে এবং সম্মান করবে|

সোর শহরে অনেক নেতা তৈরী হয়েছে| শহরের বণিকরা যেন রাজপুত্র| এখানকার যে সব লোকরা নানা জিনিসপত্র কেনাবেচা করে তারা সব জায়গায় সম্মান পেয়েছে| সুতরাং সোরের বিরুদ্ধে কে পরিকল্পনা করেছিল?

Deuteronomy 28:49
“তোমাদের বিরুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ করার জন্য প্রভু বহু দূর থেকে এক জাতির আগমণ ঘটাবেন| তোমরা তাদের ভাষা বুঝবে না| ঈগল পাখী য়েমন আকাশ থেকে নেমে আসে তেমনি দ্রুত তারা আসবে|
