Deuteronomy 30:1
“আমি তোমাদের আশীর্বাদ ও অভিশাপ সম্বন্ধে যা যা বললাম সেই সব যখন তোমাদের ওপর ঘটবে এবং প্রভু তোমাদের য়ে সব বিভিন্ন জাতির মধ্যে ছড়িয়ে দেবেন, সেখানে যদি এই সব বিষয়ে চিন্তা করে

“আজ এই দুই পথের মধ্যে য়ে কোন একটি বেছে নেওয়ার সুযোগ তোমাদের হয়েছে আর আকাশ ও পৃথিবীকে আমি এই বিষয়ে সাক্ষী রাখছি| তোমরা জীবন বা মৃত্যু বেছে নিতে পারো| প্রথমটি মনোনীত করলে তোমরা আশীর্বাদ পাবে| যদি তোমরা অপরটি মনোনীত কর তাহলে আসবে অভিশাপ| সুতরাং জীবন মনোনীত কর, তাহলে তোমরা এবং তোমাদের সন্তানরা বাঁচবে|

আর প্রভু পৃথিবীর এক প্রান্ত থেকে অপর প্রান্ত পর্য়ন্ত সমস্ত জাতির মধ্যে তোমাদের ছড়িয়ে দেবেন| সেখানে তোমরা কাঠ, পাথরের তৈরী এমন মূর্ত্তির পূজা করবে, যাদের পূজা তোমাদের পূর্বপুরুষরা কখনও করে নি|

প্রভু তাদের প্রতি অত্যন্ত ক্রুদ্ধ ও বিরক্ত হলেন, তাই তিনি তাদের দেশ থেকে বের করে দিয়ে অন্য এক দেশে রাখলেন, সেখানেই আজ তারা রয়েছে|’

এ বিষয়ে নিশ্চিত হয়ো য়ে তোমাদের মধ্যে পুরুষ, নারী, পরিবার ও পরিবারগোষ্ঠী যারাই আজ এখানে রয়েছে, তাদের কেউ য়েন প্রভু আমাদের ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে দূরে সরে না যায়| কেউ য়েন অন্য জাতির দেবতাদের পূজা না করে| যারা তা করে তারা সেই গাছের মত যা বিষাক্ত তেতো ফল উত্পন্ন করে|

মোশি এবং ইস্রায়েলের প্রবীণরা লোকদের এই আজ্ঞা করে বললেন, “আজ আমি তোমাদের য়ে আজ্ঞা দিই তার সব পালন করবে|
Leviticus 26:1
“তোমাদের নিজেদের জন্য প্রতিমূর্ত্তি গড়বে না| তাদের প্রণাম করবার জন্যে তোমাদের দেশে মূর্ত্তি বা স্মৃতিফলকসমুহ গড়বে না| কেন? কারণ আমিই প্রভু তোমাদের ঈশ্বর!
Genesis 4:14
দেখ, তুমি আমায় নির্বাসনে য়েতে বাধ্য করছ| আমি তোমার কাছেও আসতে পারব না, তোমার সঙ্গে আর আমার দেখাও হবে না| আমার কোনও ঘরবাড়ী থাকবে না| আমি পৃথিবী জুড়ে এক জায়গা থেকে আর এক জায়গায় ঘুরে বেড়াতে বাধ্য হব এবং আমায় য়ে দেখবে সেই হত্যা করবে|”
