রাজা তাদের সবার সাথে কথা বলার পর দেখলেন য়ে সমস্ত যুবকদের মধ্যে দানিয়েল, হনানিয়, মীশায়েল ও অসরিয় সবচেয়ে ভাল| তাই এই চার জন যুবককে রাজার বিশেষ ভৃত্য করা হল|

রাজার বিশেষ সুখাদ্য থেকে নবূখদ্নিত্সর একটা নির্দিষ্ট পরিমাণ খাদ্য ও পানীয় ঐ যুবকদের দিয়েছিলেন| তিন বছরের শিক্ষানবিশীর শেষে তারা যাতে রাজাকে সেবা করতে পারে তিনি সেই ব্যবস্থা করতে চেয়েছিলেন|

গিলিয়দের তিশ্বী শহরে এলিয় নামে এক ভাববাদী বাস করতেন| তিনি রাজা আহাবকে বললেন, “আমি ইস্রায়েলের ঈশ্বর, প্রভুর সেবক| আমি সেই প্রভুর নামে অভিশাপ দিলাম আগামী কয়েক বছর বৃষ্টিপাত তো দূরের কথা, এদেশে এক ফোঁটা শিশির পর্য়ন্ত আর পড়বে না| এক মাত্র আমি নির্দেশ দিলেই আবার বৃষ্টিপাত হবে|”
Jeremiah 15:19
তখন প্রভু বলেছিলেন, “যিরমিয়, তুমি নিজেকে বদলিযে আমার কাছে ফিরে এসো তাহলে তোমাকে শাস্তি দেব না| তুমি যদি নিজেকে পরিবর্তন করে আমার কাছে ফিরে আস তাহলেই তুমি আমার সেবা করতে পারবে| ঐসব মূল্যহীন কথা না বলে যদি তুমি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কথা বলতে পারো তবেই তুমি আমার হয়ে কথা বলতে পারবে| যিহূদার লোকদের নিজেদের বদলে ফেলে তোমার কাছে ফিরে আসতে হবে যিরমিয়| কিন্তু তুমি নিজেকে তাদের মতো করে বদলিও না|
