Acts 22:25
সৈনিকরা যখন পৌলকে চাবুক মারার জন্য বাঁধছে তখন য়ে সেনাপতি সেখানে দাঁড়িয়েছিল পৌল তাকে বললেন, ‘একজন রোমান নাগরিকের বিচার না করে তার কোন দোষ না পেলেও তাকে চাবুক মারা কি আইনসম্মত কাজ হবে?’

পরের দিন আমাদের জাহাজ সীদোনে পৌঁছল৷ যুলিয় পৌলের সঙ্গে বেশ ভাল ব্যবহার করলেন৷ তিনি পৌলকে তাঁর বন্ধুদের সঙ্গে দেখা সাক্ষাত্ করতে যাবার অনুমতি দিলেন৷ সেই বন্ধুরা পৌলের প্রযোজনীয় সামগ্রী য়োগাতেন৷

যখন ঠিক হল য়ে আমরা জাহাজে করে ইতালিতে যাব, তখন পৌল ও অন্য কিছু বন্দীকে রাজকীয় রক্ষীবাহিনীর সেনাপতি যুলিয়র হাতে তুলে দেওয়া হল৷

আমি তাদের বলেছিলাম য়ে, ‘যার নামে অভিযোগ দায়ের করা হচ্ছে, সে যতক্ষণ পর্যন্ত না অভিযোগকারীদের সামনে আত্মপক্ষ সমর্থন করতে পাচ্ছে, ততক্ষণ কোন লোককে তাদের হাতে তুলে দেওয়া রোমাণদের নিয়ম নয়৷
