সেই দিন, ঈশ্বরের লোকটির ভৃত্য খুব ভোরে উঠে পড়ল, বাইরে গিয়ে দেখে ঘোড়া রথসহ বিরাট এক সেনাবাহিনী শহরের চারপাশ ঘিরে আছে! সে ছুটে গিয়ে ঈশ্বরের লোককে জিজ্ঞেস করল, “প্রভু আমরা এখন কি করব?”

গাছ কাটার সময় এক জনের কুড়ুলের লোহার ডগাটা হাতল থেকে পিছলে গিয়ে একেবারে জলে গিয়ে পড়লো| লোকটা চেঁচিয়ে উঠলো, “য়াঃ! এখন কি হবে? প্রভু আমি য়ে অন্য লোকের কুড়ুল ধার করে এনেছিলাম!”

ইলীশায়ের ভৃত্য গেহসি বলল, “দেখেছো, আমার প্রভু কোন উপহার না নিয়েই অরামীয় নামানকে ছেড়ে দিলেন| আমি বরঞ্চ এই বেলা গিয়ে ওর কাছ থেকে কিছু হাতানোর ব্যবস্থা করি!”

যিহোশাফট বললেন, “প্রভুর কোন ভাব্বাদী কি এখানে চারপাশে নেই? আমরা কি করব তাঁকে জিজ্ঞেস করা যাক|”তখন ইস্রায়েলের রাজার ভৃত্যদের এক জন বললো, “শাফটের পুত্র ইলীশায়, যিনি এলিয়র শিষ্য ছিলেন, তিনি এখানে আছেন|”

ইলীশায় তখন বাড়িতে গিয়ে আত্মীয স্বজনের সঙ্গে দারুণ খাওয়া-দাওয়া করলেন| তাঁর গরুগুলোকে মেরে য়োয়ালের কাঠ বালিয়ে মাংস সেদ্ধ করে লোকদের খাওয়ালেন এবং নিজেও খেলেন| তারপর ইলীশায় এলিয়কে অনুসরণ করলেন এবং তাঁর পরিচর্য়্য়া করতে লাগলেন|
