যোব 36
1 ইলীহূ বলে চলল| সে বলল:
2 “আরো কিছুক্ষণ ধৈর্য়্য় ধরুন এবং আমি আপনাকে শিক্ষা দেব| ঈশ্বরের স্বপক্ষে বলবার মত আরো অনেক জিনিষ রযেছে|
3 আমার জ্ঞান আমি সবার সঙ্গে ভাগ করে নেবো| ঈশ্বর আমায় সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং আমি প্রমাণ করব ঈশ্বর ন্যায়পরাযণ|
4 ইয়োব, আমি সত্যি কথা বলছি| আমি জানি আমি কি বলছি|
5 “ঈশ্বর প্রচণ্ড শক্তিমান, কিন্তু তিনি মানুষকে ঘৃণা করেন না| ঈশ্বর প্রচণ্ড শক্তিমান কিন্তু তিনি ভীষণ রকমের জ্ঞানীও বটে|
6 ঈশ্বর মন্দ লোকদের বাঁচতে দেবেন না| ঈশ্বর গরীব লোকদের সঙ্গে সর্বদাই ভালো ব্যবহার করেন|
7 যারা সত্পথে জীবনযাপন করে ঈশ্বর তাদের ওপর নজর রাখেন| তিনি সত্ লোকদেরই শাসক হতে দেন| সত্ লোকদেরই ঈশ্বর চির দিনের জন্য সম্মান দেন|
8 তাই যদি মানুষকে শাস্তি দেওয়া হয়ে থাকে এবং যদি তাদের শিকল ও দড়ি দিয়ে বাঁধা হয়ে থাকে, তাহলে তারা নিশ্চয় কিছু ভুল কাজ করেছে|
9 তারা কি করেছিলো তা ঈশ্বর ওদের বলবেন| ওরা কি পাপ করেছিলো তা ঈশ্বর ওদের বলবেন| ঈশ্বর ওদের বলবেন য়ে ওরা ভীষণ অহঙ্কারী ছিলো|
10 ঈশ্বর ওই লোকগুলিকে তাঁর সতর্কবাণী শুনতে বাধ্য করবেন| তিনি ওদের পাপ বন্ধ করার জন্য নির্দেশ দেবেন|
11 যদি তারা ঈশ্বরের কথা শোনে এবং তাঁকে মান্য করে, তাহলে তারা তাদের জীবনের বাকী দিনগুলো সুখে ও সমৃদ্ধিতে যাপন করবে|
12 কিন্তু এই লোকগুলো যদি ঈশ্বরকে মানতে অস্বীকার করে তাহলে তারা ধ্বংস হয়ে যাবে| তাদের নির্বোধের মত মৃত্যু হবে|
13 য়ে লোকরা ঈশ্বরের তোযাক্কা করে না তারা সর্বদাই তিক্ত স্বভাবের হয়| এমনকি ঈশ্বর যখন ওদের শাস্তি দেন তখনও ওরা ঈশ্বরের কাছে প্রার্থনা করতে চায় না|
14 ঐ লোকগুলো পুরুষ দেহ-জীবীর মত অল্প বয়সেই মারা যাবে|
15 কিন্তু বিনীত লোকদের ঈশ্বর সংকট থেকে উদ্ধার করবেন| মানুষ জেগে উঠবে এবং ঈশ্বরের কথা শুনবে বলে ঈশ্বর মানুষকে সমস্যা দেন|
16 “ইয়োব, ঈশ্বর আপনাকে সাহায্য করতে চান| ঈশ্বর আপনাকে সমস্যা থেকে মুক্ত করতে চান| আপনার জীবনকে ঈশ্বর আরও সাবলীল করতে চান| ঈশ্বর আপনার সামনে প্রচুর খাদ্য দিতে চান|
17 কিন্তু ইয়োব, আপনি দোষী সাব্যস্ত হয়েছিলেন| তাই এক জন মন্দ লোকের মত আপনি শাস্তি পেয়েছিলেন|
18 ইয়োব, সম্পদের দ্বারা আপনি নির্বোধ হয়ে যাবেন না| অর্থ য়েন আপনার মনের পরিবর্তন না করে|
19 আপনার অর্থ এখন আপনাকে সাহায্য করতে পারবে না| এবং শক্তিশালী লোকরাও এখন কোন ভাবে সাহায্য করতে পারবে না!
20 রাত্রির আগমনের প্রত্যাশা করবেন না| লোকে অন্ধকারে অদৃশ্য হয়ে য়েতে চায়| তারা ভাবে তারা ঈশ্বরের কাছ থেকে লুকিয়ে থাকবে|
21 ইয়োব, আপনি প্রচুর কষ্টভোগ করেছেন| কিন্তু মন্দকে পছন্দ করবেন না| ভুল করবেন না, সতর্ক থাকবেন|
22 “দেখুন, ঈশ্বরের শক্তি তাঁকে মহান করেছে| ঈশ্বর প্রত্যেকেরই মহানতম শিক্ষক|
23 কি করতে হবে তা কোন লোকই ঈশ্বরকে বলতে পারে না| কোন লোকই ঈশ্বরকে বলতে পারে না, ‘আপনি ভুল করেছেন|’
24 “ঈশ্বর যা করেছেন তার জন্য তাঁকে প্রশংসা করার কথা মনে রাখবেন| ঈশ্বরের প্রশংসা করে লোকে অনেক গান লিখেছে|
25 ঈশ্বর কি করেছেন তা প্রত্যেকেই দেখতে পায়| কিন্তু লোকরা ঈশ্বরের কাজ শুধু মাত্র দূর থেকে দেখে|
26 হ্যাঁ, আমাদের কল্পনার চেয়েও ঈশ্বর মহান| ঈশ্বর কতদিন ধরে বেঁচে আছেন, আমরা জানি না|
27 “ঈশ্বর পৃথিবী থেকে জল নিয়ে তাকে বৃষ্টিতে পরিণত করেন|
28 তাই মেঘ জল দেয় এবং বহু লোকের ওপর বৃষ্টি পড়ে|
29 কেমন করে ঈশ্বর মেঘকে ছড়িয়ে দেন, কেমন করে আকাশে বজ্র খেলে যায় তা কেউই জানে না, বুঝতে পারে না|
30 দেখুন, ঈশ্বর তাঁর বিদ্যুত্কে আকাশে পাঠিয়েছেন এবং সমুদ্রের গভীরতম অংশকে আবৃত করে দিয়েছেন|
31 জাতিগুলিকে নিয়ন্ত্রণ করার জন্য এবং তাদের প্রচুর খাবার দেওয়ার জন্য ঈশ্বর ওগুলিকে ব্যবহার করেন|
32 ঈশ্বর তাঁর হাতে বিদ্যুত্কে ধরে থাকেন এবং যেখানে তিনি চান, সেখানেই বিদ্যুত্কে আছড়ে ফেলেন|
33 বজ্রপাত মানুষকে সতর্ক করে দেয় য়ে ঝড় আসছে| তাই গবাদি পশুরাও জানতে পারে ঝড় আসছে|
1 Elihu also proceeded, and said,
2 Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God’s behalf.
3 I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
4 For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
5 Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
6 He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
7 He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
8 And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
9 Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
10 He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
11 If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
12 But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
13 But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.
14 They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
15 He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
16 Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.
17 But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.
18 Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
19 Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
20 Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
21 Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
22 Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
23 Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
24 Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
25 Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
26 Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
27 For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
28 Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
29 Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
30 Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
31 For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.
32 With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.
33 The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
Job 14 in Tamil and English
1 ইয়োব বললেন, “আমরা প্রত্যেকেই মানুষ| আমাদের জীবন ক্ষণস্থায়ী এবং সমস্যায় পূর্ণ|
Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.
2 মানুষের জীবন ফুলের মত| সে তাড়াতাড়ি বড় হয় এবং তারপর মারা যায়| মানুষের জীবন একটা ছায়ার মত যা অল্পক্ষণের জন্য এখানে থাকে এবং তারপর আবার চলে যায়|
He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not.
3 কিন্তু যদিও আমি নেহাতই একটি মানুষ মাত্র, আপনি আমার ওপর মনোয়োগ দেন এবং আমাকে আদালতে নিয়ে যান|
And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee?
4 “কিন্তু অশুচি কিছু থেকে কেই বা শুচি কিছু তৈরী করতে পারে? কেউই নয়!
Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.
5 মানুষের জীবন সীমিত| ঈশ্বর, আপনিই স্থির করেছেন মানুষ কতদিন বাঁচবে| আপনিই মানুষের জন্য সেই সীমা নির্ধারণ করেন এবং কোন কিছুই আর তাকে পরিবর্তন করতে পারে না|
Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass;
6 তাই ঈশ্বর, আমাদের প্রতি লক্ষ্য রাখা বন্ধ করুন| আমাদের একা ছেড়ে দিন| আমাদের সময় শেষ হওয়া পর্য়ন্ত আমাদের কঠিন জীবন আমাদের উপভোগ করতে দিন|
Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.
7 “এমনকি একটা গাছেরও আশা আছে| যদি না তাকে কেটে ফেলা হয় তা আবার বড় হতে পারে| তা আবার নতুন অঙ্কুর ছড়িয়ে দিতে পারে|
For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease.
8 এর শিকড় মাটির নীচে বুড়ো হয়ে য়েতে পারে, এর কাণ্ড ধূলায মরে য়েতে পারে,
Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground;
9 কিন্তু যদি সামান্য একটুও জল পায় আবার তা বাড়তে শুরু করে| নতুন গাছের মতই তা আবার বড় হতে থাকে|
Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant.
10 কিন্তু যখন এক জন শক্তসমর্থ মানুষ মরে, সে শেষ হয়ে যায়| যখন মানুষ মরে যায়, সে চলে যায় ঠিক
But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?
11 দীঘি য়েমন শুকিয়ে যায় অথবা নদী য়েমন শুকিয়ে যায় তার মতন|
As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up:
12 যখন এক জন মানুষ মরে যায়, সে শুয়ে পড়ে এবং সে আর ওঠে না| এক জন মৃত লোক উঠে দাঁড়াবার আগে এই আকাশমণ্ডল অদৃশ্য হয়ে যাবে| না| সেই নিদ্রা থেকে মানুষ আর জাগবে না|
So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep.
13 আমার ইচ্ছা আপনি আমাকে আমার কবরে লুকিয়ে রাখুন| আমার ইচ্ছা, আপনার ক্রোধ প্রশমিত না হওয়া পর্য়ন্ত আপনি আমায় সেই খানে লুকিয়ে রাখুন| তারপর না হয় আমাকে স্মরণ করার জন্য আপনি একটা সময় বের করবেন|
O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me!
14 যদি কোন লোক মারা যায়, সে কি আবার বাঁচবে? যদি তাই সম্ভব হয় আমি আমার মুক্তি পর্য়ন্ত অপেক্ষা করবো|
If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.
15 ঈশ্বর, আপনি আমায় ডাকবেন এবং আমি আপনার ডাকে সাড়া দেবো| তাহলে আমি, যাকে আপনি তৈরী করেছেন, সেই আমি আপনার কাছে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ হয়ে উঠব|
Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands.
16 আমার প্রত্যেকটি পদক্ষেপে আপনি আমায় লক্ষ্য করুন, কিন্তু আমার পাপ মনে রাখবেন না|
For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin?
17 আমার সমস্ত পাপ আপনি একটা থলেতে ভরে, তার মুখ বন্ধ করে, তাকে দূরে ছুঁড়ে ফেলে দেবেন|
My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity.
18 “পর্বতও ভেঙে যায় এবং ধূলায পরিণত হয়; বড় পাথরও আলগা হয়ে ভেঙে পড়ে|
And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place.
19 তাদের ওপর দিয়ে জলরাশি প্রবাহিত হয়ে তাদের ধুয়ে নিয়ে যায়| বন্যা ভূমির মাটিকে ধুয়ে নিয়ে যায়| সেই ভাবেই হে ঈশ্বর, আপনি এক জন মানুষের আশা এবং ইচ্ছা ধ্বংস করেন|
The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man.
20 আপনি তাকে সম্পূর্ণ পরাজিত করেন এবং সে চলে যায়| আপনি তাকে দুঃখী করেন এবং চির দিনের জন্য তাকে মৃত্যুলোকে পাঠিয়ে দেন|
Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away.
21 তার ছেলেরা হয়ত সম্মান পেতে পারে, অথবা তারা হয়ত গুরুত্বপূর্ণ না হতে পারে, কিন্তু সে কখনও জানতে পারবে না|
His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them.
22 সেই লোকটি তার শরীরে কেবল যন্ত্রণা ভোগ করে এবং সে উচ্চস্বরে কেবল নিজের জন্যই কাঁদে|”
But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.
