কিন্তু এসব সত্ত্বেও আমি খুশি হতে পারছি না| যতক্ষণ ওই ইহুদী মর্দখয়টাকে রাজদ্বারের কাছে বসে থাকতে দেখবো ততক্ষণ আমার পক্ষে খুশী হওয়া সম্ভব নয়|”

হামন সেদিন রাজার বাড়ী থেকে খুবই খুশি মনে ও আনন্দিত চিত্তে আসছিলেন, কিন্তু রাজতোরনের সামনে মর্দখয়কে দাঁড়িয়ে থাকতে দেখে তিনি খুব রেগে গেলেন| তিনি যখন পাশ দিয়ে গেলেন তখন মর্দখয় মাথা নীচু করলেন না বা হামনকে সম্মান দেখালেন না| তিনি হামনকে কখনও ভয় পেতেন না আর এ ব্যপারে হামন খুব রুদ্ধ ছিলেন|

যোব 15:20
এই সব জ্ঞানী লোক বলেছেন, এক জন দুষ্ট লোক সারা জীবন কষ্ট পায়| এক জন নিষ্ঠুর লোক জীবনের সারা বছর কষ্ট পায়|

নাবোতের কথায় ক্রুদ্ধ ও ক্ষুব্ধ আহাব তখন বাড়ি ফিরে গেলেন| য়িষ্রিযেলের এই ব্যক্তির কথা তিনি কোনভাবেই মেনে নিতে পারছিলেন না| নাবোত বলল য়ে সে তার পরিবারের জমি দেবে না| আহাব বিছানায শুয়ে পড়লেন, মুখ ঘুরিযে রাখলেন এবং খেতে অস্বীকার করলেন|

উপদেশক 1:2
সবই এত অর্থহীন! তাই উপদেশকের মতে সবই অসার, সবই সময়ের অপচয!

উপদেশক 1:14
আমি দেখেছিলাম সূর্য়ের নীচে যা কিছু করা হয় তা সবই অসার, সময়ের অপচয় মাত্র| এ য়েন অনেকটা হাওয়ার পেছনে ছোটা|

যোব 18:4
ইয়োব, তোমার ক্রোধ শুধু মাত্র তোমাকেই আহত করছে| লোকে কি শুধু তোমার জন্য পৃথিবী ত্যাগ করবে? তুমি কি মনে কর, য়ে শুধু তোমাকে খুশী করতে ঈশ্বর পর্বতকে সরাবেন?
