যেহেতু আহস এই সমস্ত পাপাচরণে লিপ্ত হয়েছিলেন সেহেতু প্রভু, তাঁর ঈশ্বর অরাম রাজের হাতে তাঁকে যুদ্ধে পরাজিত করেছিলেন| আহসের বহু সৈন্যকে বন্দী করে অরামরাজ তাদের দম্মেশকে নিয়ে যান| উপরন্তু, ইস্রায়েলের রাজা রমলিযর পুত্র পেকহর হাতেও আহসের পরাজয় ঘটে|

Wherefore the LORD his God delivered him into the hand of the king of Syria; and they smote him, and carried away a great multitude of them captives, and brought them to Damascus. And he was also delivered into the hand of the king of Israel, who smote him with a great slaughter.
