কিন্তু সাদোকের পুত্র অহীমাস আবার য়োয়াবের কাছে অনুরোধ করল, “যা ঘটে গেছে তা নিয়ে চিন্তিত হযো না, আমাকেও ঐ কূশীয়র পিছনে ছুটে যেতে দাও!” য়োয়াব জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “পুত্র, কেন তুমি এই সংবাদ নিয়ে যেতে চাইছ? এই সংবাদের জন্য তুমি কোন পুরস্কার পাবে না|”

Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But howsoever, let me, I pray thee, also run after Cushy. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou hast no tidings ready?

Then said Ahimaaz the son of Zadok yet again to Joab, But come what may, let me, I pray thee, also run after the Cushite. And Joab said, Wherefore wilt thou run, my son, seeing that thou wilt have no reward for the tidings?

pray נָּ֥א nāʾ na
thee, also גַם gam ɡahm

after אַֽחֲרֵ֣י ʾaḥar ah-HAHR
Cushi. הַכּוּשִׁ֑י kûšî koo-SHEE
said, וַיֹּ֣אמֶר ʾāmar ah-MAHR

Wherefore לָֽמָּה mâ ma
זֶּ֞ה ze zeh
wilt thou אַתָּ֥ה ʾattâ ah-TA
run, רָץ֙ rûṣ roots

seeing that thou hast no אֵין ʾayin ah-YEEN
tidings בְּשׂוֹרָ֥ה bĕśôrâ beh-soh-RA
