ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের কাছে বিভিন্ন দেশের মূর্ত্তি ছিল| য়োশিয সেইসব ভযানক জঘন্য মূর্ত্তি ভেঙে ফেলে ইস্রায়েলের লোকদের প্রভুর সেবা করতে বাধ্য করালেন| যতদিন পর্য়ন্ত য়োশিয বেঁচে ছিলেন লোকরা তাদের পূর্বপুরুষের প্রভু ঈশ্বরের সেবা করে চলেছিলেন|
