তখন রাজা দোযেগকে আদেশ দিলেন| শৌল বললেন, “দোযেগ, তুমি যাজকদের হত্যা করো|” দোযেগ গিয়ে যাজকদের হত্যা করলো| সেই দিন সে 85 জন যাজককে হত্যা করল|

শৌল তাঁর বর্মবহনকারী ভৃত্যকে বললেন, “আমায় তোমার তরবারি দিয়ে মেরে ফেল| তাহলে বিদেশীরা আর আমায় মেরে মজা করতে পারবে না|” কিন্তু ভৃত্য সে কথা শুনলো না| সে বেশ ভয় পেয়ে গিয়েছিল| তাই শৌল নিজের তরবারি দিয়ে নিজেকে হত্যা করলেন|

দায়ূদ তাদের রাজার মাথাথেকে মুকুট কেড়ে নিলেন| মুকুটটিতে প্রায 75 পাউণ্ড সোনা ছিল| মুকুটটিতে অনেক মূল্যবান মনিমুক্তো ছিল| তারা সেই মুকুট দায়ূদের মাথায় পরিযে দিল| সেই শহর থেকে দায়ূদ অনেক মূল্যবান জিনিসপত্র নিয়ে এসেছিলেন|

মাথা থেকে আমাদের মুকুট খুলে পড়ে গেছে| সমস্ত কিছু এমশঃ খারাপ হয়ে উঠেছে| এসব হচ্ছে আমাদের পাপের জন্যই|
