அதை அவர்கள் தூக்கியெடுத்த பின்பு, பல உபாயங்கள் செய்து, கப்பலைச் சுற்றிக் கட்டி, சொரிமணலிலே விழுவோமென்று பயந்து, பாய்களை இறக்கி, இவ்விதமாய்க் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்டார்கள்.

உயிர் மீட்கும் படகை மனிதர்கள் எடுத்த பின், அவர்கள் கப்பலைச் சுற்றிலும் கயிறுகளால் கப்பல் சரியாக இருப்பதற்கென்று கட்டினார்கள். சிர்டிஸின் மணற் பாங்கான கரையில் கப்பல் மோதக்கூடுமென்று அவர்கள் நினைத்தார்கள். எனவே துடுப்புகளை எடுத்துவிட்டு, காற்று கப்பலைச் செலுத்தும்படியாக விட்டார்கள்.
