இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரான அவர்கள் எழும்பி, தேவனுடைய வீட்டிற்குப் போய்: எங்களில் யார் முந்திப் போய் பென்யமீன் புத்திரரோடு யுத்தம்பண்ண வேண்டும் என்று தேவனிடத்தில் விசாரித்தார்கள்; அதற்குக் கர்த்தர்: யூதா முந்திப் போகவேண்டும் என்றார்.

இஸ்ரவேலர் பெத்தேல் நகரத்திற்குச் சென்றனர். பெத்தேலில் அவர்கள் தேவனிடம், “எந்தக் கோத்திரத்தினர் முதலில் பென்யமீன் கோத்திரத்தைத் தாக்கவேண்டும்?” என்று கேட்டனர். கர்த்தர், “யூதா முதலில் போகட்டும்” என்றார்.
