1 இதற்குப்பின்பு, அப்சலோம் இரதங்களையும் குதிரைகளையும், தனக்கு முன் ஓட ஐம்பது சேவகரையும் சம்பாதித்தான். And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.

2 மேலும் அப்சலோம் காலைதோறும் எழுந்திருந்து, பட்டணத்து வாசலுக்குப் போகிற வழி ஓரத்திலே நின்றுகொண்டு, எவனாகிலும் தனக்கு இருக்கிற வழக்கு முகாந்தரமாய் ராஜாவினிடத்தில் நியாயத்திற்காகப் போகும்போது, அவனை அழைத்து, நீ எந்த ஊரான் என்று கேட்பான்; அவன் உமது அடியான் இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களில் ஒன்றுக்கடுத்த இன்ன ஊரான் என்றால், And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.

3 அப்பொழுது அப்சலோம் அவனை நோக்கி: இதோ, உன் காரியம் நேர்மையும் நியாயமுமாயிருக்கிறது: ஆனாலும் ராஜாவினிடத்திலே உன் காரியத்தை விசாரிப்பார் ஒருவரும் இல்லை என்பான். And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.

4 பின்னும் அப்சலோம் வழக்கு வியாஜ்யமுள்ளவர்கள் எல்லாரும் என்னிடத்தில் வந்து, நான் அவர்களுக்கு நியாயஞ்செய்யும்படிக்கு, என்னை தேசத்திலே நியாயாதிபதியாக வைத்தால் நலமாயிருக்கும் என்பான். Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!

5 எவனாகிலும் ஒருவன் அவனை வணங்கவரும்போது, அவன் தன் கையை நீட்டி அவனைத் தழுவி, முத்தஞ்செய்வான். And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.

6 இந்தப்பிரகாரமாக அப்சலோம் ராஜாவினிடத்தில் நியாயத்திற்காக வரும் இஸ்ரவேலருக்கெல்லாம் செய்து, இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷருடைய இருதயத்தைக் கவர்ந்துகொண்டான். And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

7 நாற்பது வருஷம் சென்றபின்பு, அப்சலோம் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: நான் கர்த்தருக்குப் பண்ணின என் பொருத்தனையை எப்ரோனில் செலுத்தும்படிக்கு நான் போக உத்தரவுகொடும். And it came to pass after forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, I pray thee, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron.

8 கர்த்தர் என்னை எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பி வரப்பண்ணினால், கர்த்தருக்கு ஆராதனை செய்வேன் என்று உமது அடியானாகிய நான் சீரியாதேசத்தில் கேசூரிலே குடியிருக்கும்போது, பொருத்தனைபண்ணினேன் என்றான். For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.

9 அதற்கு ராஜா, சமாதானத்தோடேபோ என்றான்; அப்பொழுது அவன் எழுந்து எப்ரோனுக்குப் போனான். And the king said unto him, Go in peace. So he arose, and went to Hebron.

10 அப்சலோம் இஸ்ரவேல் கோத்திரங்களுக்கெல்லாம் வேவுகாரரை அனுப்பி, நீங்கள் எக்காளத்தொனியைக் கேட்கும்போது, அப்சலோம் எப்ரோனிலே ராஜாவானான் என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்று சொல்லச்சொல்லி வைத்திருந்தான். But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom reigneth in Hebron.

11 எருசலேமிலிருந்து வரவழைக்கப்பட்ட இருநூறுபேர் அப்சலோமோடே கூடப்போனார்கள்; அவர்கள் வஞ்சகமின்றி அறியாமையினால் போனார்கள். And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing.

12 அப்சலோம் பலிகளைச் செலுத்தும்போது, தாவீதின் ஆலோசனைக்காரனாகிய அகித்தோப்பேல் என்னும் கீலோனியனையும் அவன் ஊராகிய கீலோவிலிருந்து வரவழைப்பித்தான்; அப்படியே கட்டுப்பாடு பலத்து, ஜனங்கள் அப்சலோமினிடத்தில் திரளாய் வந்து கூடினார்கள். And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counselor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong; for the people increased continually with Absalom.

13 அதை அறிவிக்கிற ஒருவன் தாவீதினிடத்தில் வந்து, இஸ்ரவேலில் ஒவ்வொருவருடைய இருதயமும் அப்சலோமைப்பற்றிப்போகிறது என்றான். And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.

14 அப்பொழுது தாவீது எருசலேமிலே தன்னிடத்திலுள்ள தன்னுடைய எல்லா ஊழியக்காரரையும் நோக்கி: எழுந்து ஓடிப்போவோம், இல்லாவிட்டால் நாம் அப்சலோமுக்குத் தப்ப இடமில்லை; அவன் தீவிரித்து நம்மிடத்தில் வந்து, நம்மைப் பிடித்து, நம்மேல் பொல்லாப்பு வரப்பண்ணி, நகரத்தைப் பட்டயக்கருக்கினால் சங்காரம்பண்ணாதபடிக்குத் தீவிரமாய்ப் புறப்படுங்கள் என்றான். And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

15 ராஜாவின் ஊழியக்காரர் ராஜாவைப் பார்த்து: இதோ, ராஜாவாகிய எங்கள் ஆண்டவன் கட்டளையிடும் காரியத்தையெல்லாம் செய்ய உமது அடியாராகிய நாங்கள் ஆயத்தமாயிருக்கிறோம் என்றார்கள். And the king's servants said unto the king, Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall appoint.

16 அப்படியே ராஜாவும் அவனுடைய வீட்டார் எல்லாரும் கால்நடையாய்ப் புறப்பட்டார்கள், வீட்டைக்காக்க ராஜா மறுமனையாட்டிகளாகிய பத்து ஸ்திரீகளைப் பின்வைத்தான். And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, which were concubines, to keep the house.

17 ராஜாவும் சமஸ்த ஜனங்களும் கால்நடையாய்ப் புறப்பட்டு, சற்றுத்தூரம்போய், ஒரு இடத்திலே தரித்து நின்றார்கள். And the king went forth, and all the people after him, and tarried in a place that was far off.

18 அவனுடைய ஊழியக்காரர் எல்லாரும், கிரேத்தியர் யாவரும் பிலேத்தியர் யாவரும் அவன் பக்கத்திலே நடந்துபோனார்கள்; காத்தூரிலிருந்து கால்நடையாய் வந்திருந்த அறுநூறுபேராகிய கித்தியர் எல்லாரும் ராஜாவுக்குமுன்பாக நடந்தார்கள். And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men which came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.

19 அப்பொழுது ராஜா கித்தியனாகிய ஈத்தாயைப் பார்த்து: நீ எங்களுடனேகூட வருவானேன்? நீ திரும்பிப்போய், ராஜாவுடனேகூட இரு; நீ அந்நியதேசத்தான், நீ உன் இடத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போகலாம். Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile.

20 நீ நேற்றுதானே வந்தாய்; இன்றுநான் உன்னை எங்களோடே நடந்துவரும்படிக்கு அழைத்துக்கொண்டு போகலாமா? நான் போகக்கூடிய இடத்திற்குப்போகிறேன்; நீ உன் சகோதரரையும் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு திரும்பிப்போ; கிருபையும் உண்மையும் உன்னோடே இருப்பதாக என்றான். Whereas thou camest but yesterday, should I this day make thee go up and down with us? seeing I go whither I may, return thou, and take back thy brethren: mercy and truth be with thee.

21 ஆனாலும் ஈத்தாய் ராஜாவுக்குப் பிரதியுத்தரமாக ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவன் எங்கேயிருப்பாரோ, அங்கே உமது அடியானும், செத்தாலும் பிழைத்தாலும், இருப்பான் என்று கர்த்தருடைய ஜீவனையும் ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனுடைய ஜீவனையும் கொண்டு சொல்லுகிறேன் என்றான். And Ittai answered the king, and said, As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will thy servant be.

22 அப்பொழுது தாவீது ஈத்தாயை நோக்கி: நடந்துவா என்றான்: அப்படியே கித்தியனாகிய ஈத்தாயும் அவனுடைய எல்லா மனுஷரும் அவனோடிருக்கிற எல்லாப் பிள்ளைகளும் நடந்துபோனார்கள். And David said to Ittai, Go and pass over. And Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him.

23 சகல ஜனங்களும் நடந்துபோகிறபோது, தேசத்தார் எல்லாரும் மகா சத்தமாய் அழுதார்கள்; ராஜா கீதரோன் ஆற்றைக் கடந்தான்; ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் வனாந்தரத்திற்குப் போகிற வழியே நடந்துபோனார்கள். And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.

24 சாதோக்கும் தேவனுடைய உடன்படிக்கைப் பெட்டியை அவனோடேகூட இருந்து சுமக்கிற சகல லேவியரும் வந்து, தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை அங்கே வைத்தார்கள்; ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் நகரத்திலிருந்து கடந்துதீருமட்டும், அபியத்தார் திரும்பிப்போயிருந்தான். And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city.

25 ராஜா சாதோக்கை நோக்கி: தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை நகரத்திற்குத் திரும்பக் கொண்டுபோ; கர்த்தருடைய கண்களில் எனக்குக் கிருபை கிடைத்ததானால், நான் அதையும் அவர் வாசஸ்தலத்தையும் பார்க்கிறதற்கு, என்னைத்திரும்ப வரப்பண்ணுவார். And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favor in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation:

26 அவர்: உன்மேல் எனக்குப் பிரியமில்லை என்பாராகில், இதோ, இங்கே இருக்கிறேன்; அவர் தம்முடைய பார்வைக்கு நலமானபடி எனக்குச் செய்வாராக என்றான். But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.

27 பின்னும் ராஜா ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கை நோக்கி: நீ ஞானதிருஷ்டிக்காரன் அல்லவோ? நீ சமாதானத்தோடே நகரத்திற்குத் திரும்பு; உன் மகன் அகிமாசும் அபியத்தாரின் மகன் யோனத்தானுமாகிய உங்கள் குமாரர் இரண்டுபேரும் உங்களோடேகூடத் திரும்பிப் போகட்டும். The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.

28 எனக்கு அறிவிக்கிறதற்கு உங்களிடத்திலிருந்து செய்திவருமட்டும், நான் வனாந்தரத்தின் வெளிகளிலே தரித்திருப்பேன் என்றான். See, I will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to certify me.

29 அப்படியே சாதோக்கும் அபியத்தாரும் தேவனுடைய பெட்டியை எருசலேமுக்குத் திரும்பக் கொண்டுபோய், அங்கே இருந்தார்கள். Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there.

30 தாவீது தன் முகத்தை மூடி, வெறுங்காலால் நடந்து அழுதுகொண்டு ஒலிவமலையின்மேல் ஏறிப்போனான்; அவனோடிருந்த சகல ஜனங்களும் முகத்கைமூடி அழுதுகொண்டு ஏறினார்கள். And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.

31 அப்சலோமோடே கட்டுப்பாடுபண்ணினவர்களுடன் அகித்தோப்பேலும் சேர்ந்திருக்கிறான் என்று தாவீதுக்கு அறிவிக்கப்பட்டபோது, தாவீது, கர்த்தாவே, அகித்தோப்பேலின் ஆலோசனையைப் பயித்தியமாக்கிவிடுவீராக என்றான். And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head:

34 நீ நகரத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப்போய், அப்சலோமை நோக்கி: ராஜாவே, உம்முடைய ஊழியக்காரனாயிருப்பேன்; முன்பு நான் உம்முடைய தகப்பனுக்கு ஊழியக்காரனாயிருந்தேன்; இப்போது நான் உமக்கு ஊழியக்காரன் என்றாயேயாகில், எனக்காக அகித்தோப்பேலின் ஆலோசனையை அபத்தமாக்குவாய். But if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom, I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father's servant hitherto, so will I now also be thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel.

35 உன்னோடே அங்கே சாதோக் அபியத்தார் என்னும் ஆசாரியர்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள் அல்லவா? ராஜாவின் வீட்டிலே பிறக்கிற ஏதேது செய்தி உண்டோ, என்னென்ன கேள்விப்படுகிறாயோ, அதையெல்லாம் சாதோக் அபியத்தார் என்னும் ஆசாரியர்களுக்கு அறிவிப்பாய். And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.

36 அங்கே அவர்களோடே சாதோக்கின் மகன் அகிமாசும் அபியத்தாரின் மகன் யோனத்தானும், அவர்கள் இரண்டு குமாரரும் இருக்கிறார்கள்; நீங்கள் கேள்விப்படுகிற செய்தியையெல்லாம் அவர்கள்வசமாய் எனக்கு அனுப்புவீர்களாக என்றான். Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear.

37 அப்படியே தாவீதின் சிநேகிதனாகிய ஊசாய் நகரத்திற்கு வந்தான்; அப்சலோமும் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தான். So Hushai David's friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.

1 Itharkuppinpu, apsalom irathangalaiyum kuthiraikalaiyum, thanakku mun oda aimpathu sevakaraiyum sampaathiththaan. And it came to pass after this, that Absalom prepared him chariots and horses, and fifty men to run before him.

2 Maelum apsalom kaalaithoraுm elunthirunthu, pattanaththu vaasalukkup pokira vali oraththilae nintukonndu, evanaakilum thanakku irukkira valakku mukaantharamaay raajaavinidaththil niyaayaththirkaakap pokumpothu, avanai alaiththu, nee entha ooraan entu kaetpaan; avan umathu atiyaan Israel koththirangalil ontukkaduththa inna ooraan ental, And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou? And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.

3 Appoluthu apsalom avanai Nnokki: itho, un kaariyam naermaiyum niyaayamumaayirukkirathu: aanaalum raajaavinidaththilae un kaariyaththai visaarippaar oruvarum illai enpaan. And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.

4 Pinnum apsalom valakku viyaajyamullavarkal ellaarum ennidaththil vanthu, naan avarkalukku niyaayanjaெyyumpatikku, ennai thaesaththilae niyaayaathipathiyaaka vaiththaal nalamaayirukkum enpaan. Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!

5 Evanaakilum oruvan avanai vanangavarumpothu, avan than kaiyai neetti avanaith thaluvi, muththanjaெyvaan. And it was so, that when any man came nigh to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.

6 Inthappirakaaramaaka apsalom raajaavinidaththil niyaayaththirkaaka varum isravaelarukkellaam seythu, Israel manusharutaiya iruthayaththaik kavarnthukonndaan. And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.

7 Naarpathu varusham sentapinpu, apsalom raajaavai Nnokki: naan karththarukkup pannnnina en poruththanaiyai epronil seluththumpatikku naan poka uththaravukodum. And it came to pass after forty years, that Absalom said unto the king, I pray thee, let me go and pay my vow, which I have vowed unto the LORD, in Hebron.

8 Karththar ennai erusalaemukkuth thirumpi varappannnninaal, karththarukku aaraathanai seyvaen entu umathu atiyaanaakiya naan seeriyaathaesaththil kaesoorilae kutiyirukkumpothu, poruththanaipannnninaen entan. For thy servant vowed a vow while I abode at Geshur in Syria, saying, If the LORD shall bring me again indeed to Jerusalem, then I will serve the LORD.

9 Atharku raajaa, samaathaanaththotaepo entan; appoluthu avan elunthu epronukkup ponaan. And the king said unto him, Go in peace. So he arose, and went to Hebron.

10 Apsalom Israel koththirangalukkellaam vaevukaararai anuppi, neengal ekkaalaththoniyaik kaetkumpothu, apsalom epronilae raajaavaanaan entu sollungal entu sollachchaொlli vaiththirunthaan. But Absalom sent spies throughout all the tribes of Israel, saying, As soon as ye hear the sound of the trumpet, then ye shall say, Absalom reigneth in Hebron.

11 Erusalaemilirunthu varavalaikkappatta irunooraுpaer apsalomotae koodapponaarkal; avarkal vanjakaminti ariyaamaiyinaal ponaarkal. And with Absalom went two hundred men out of Jerusalem, that were called; and they went in their simplicity, and they knew not any thing.

12 Apsalom palikalaich seluththumpothu, thaaveethin aalosanaikkaaranaakiya akiththoppael ennum geeloniyanaiyum avan ooraakiya geelovilirunthu varavalaippiththaan; appatiyae kattuppaadu palaththu, janangal apsalominidaththil thiralaay vanthu kootinaarkal. And Absalom sent for Ahithophel the Gilonite, David's counselor, from his city, even from Giloh, while he offered sacrifices. 13 Athai arivikkira oruvan thaaveethinidaththil vanthu, isravaelil ovvoruvarutaiya iruthayamum apsalomaippattippokirathu entan. And there came a messenger to David, saying, The hearts of the men of Israel are after Absalom.

14 Appoluthu David erusalaemilae thannidaththilulla thannutaiya ellaa ooliyakkaararaiyum Nnokki: elunthu otippovom, illaavittal naam apsalomukkuth thappa idamillai; avan theeviriththu nammidaththil vanthu, nammaip pitiththu, nammael pollaappu varappannnni, nakaraththaip pattayakkarukkinaal sangaarampannnnaathapatikkuth theeviramaayp purappadungal entan. And David said unto all his servants that were with him at Jerusalem, Arise, and let us flee; for we shall not else escape from Absalom: make speed to depart, lest he overtake us suddenly, and bring evil upon us, and smite the city with the edge of the sword.

15 Raajaavin ooliyakkaarar raajaavaip paarththu: itho, raajaavaakiya engal aanndavan kattalaiyidum kaariyaththaiyellaam seyya umathu atiyaaraakiya naangal aayaththamaayirukkirom entarkal. And the king's servants said unto the king, Behold, thy servants are ready to do whatsoever my lord the king shall appoint.

16 Appatiyae raajaavum avanutaiya veettar ellaarum kaalnataiyaayp purappattarkal, veettaைkkaakka raajaa maraுmanaiyaattikalaakiya paththu sthireekalaip pinvaiththaan. And the king went forth, and all his household after him. And the king left ten women, which were concubines, to keep the house.

17 Raajaavum samastha janangalum kaalnataiyaayp purappattu, sattaுththoorampoy, oru idaththilae thariththu nintarkal. And the king went forth, and all the people after him, and tarried in a place that was far off.

18 Avanutaiya ooliyakkaarar ellaarum, kiraeththiyar yaavarum pilaeththiyar yaavarum avan pakkaththilae nadanthuponaarkal; kaaththoorilirunthu kaalnataiyaay vanthiruntha araுnooraுpaeraakiya kiththiyar ellaarum raajaavukkumunpaaka nadanthaarkal. And all his servants passed on beside him; and all the Cherethites, and all the Pelethites, and all the Gittites, six hundred men which came after him from Gath, passed on before the king.

19 Appoluthu raajaa kiththiyanaakiya eeththaayaip paarththu: nee engaludanaekooda varuvaanaen? Nee thirumpippoy, raajaavudanaekooda iru; nee anniyathaesaththaan, nee un idaththirkuth thirumpippokalaam. Then said the king to Ittai the Gittite, Wherefore goest thou also with us? return to thy place, and abide with the king: for thou art a stranger, and also an exile.

20 Nee naettaுthaanae vanthaay; intunaan unnai engalotae nadanthuvarumpatikku alaiththukkonndu pokalaamaa? Naan pokakkootiya idaththirkuppokiraேn; nee un sakothararaiyum alaiththukkonndu thirumpippo; kirupaiyum unnmaiyum unnotae iruppathaaka entan. 21 Aanaalum eeththaay raajaavukkup pirathiyuththaramaaka raajaavaakiya en aanndavan engaeyiruppaaro, angae umathu atiyaanum, seththaalum pilaiththaalum, iruppaan entu karththarutaiya jeevanaiyum raajaavaakiya en aanndavanutaiya jeevanaiyum konndu sollukiraேn entan. And Ittai answered the king, and said, As the LORD liveth, and as my lord the king liveth, surely in what place my lord the king shall be, whether in death or life, even there also will thy servant be.

22 Appoluthu David eeththaayai Nnokki: nadanthuvaa entan: appatiyae kiththiyanaakiya eeththaayum avanutaiya ellaa manusharum avanotirukkira ellaap pillaikalum nadanthuponaarkal. And David said to Ittai, Go and pass over. And Ittai the Gittite passed over, and all his men, and all the little ones that were with him.

23 Sakala janangalum nadanthupokirapothu, thaesaththaar ellaarum makaa saththamaay aluthaarkal; raajaa geetharon aattaைk kadanthaan; janangal ellaarum vanaantharaththirkup pokira valiyae nadanthuponaarkal. And all the country wept with a loud voice, and all the people passed over: the king also himself passed over the brook Kidron, and all the people passed over, toward the way of the wilderness.

24 Saathokkum thaevanutaiya udanpatikkaip pettiyai avanotaekooda irunthu sumakkira sakala laeviyarum vanthu, thaevanutaiya pettiyai angae vaiththaarkal; janangal ellaarum nakaraththilirunthu kadanthutheerumattum, apiyaththaar thirumpippoyirunthaan. And lo Zadok also, and all the Levites were with him, bearing the ark of the covenant of God: and they set down the ark of God; and Abiathar went up, until all the people had done passing out of the city.

25 Raajaa saathokkai Nnokki: thaevanutaiya pettiyai nakaraththirkuth thirumpak konndupo; karththarutaiya kannkalil enakkuk kirupai kitaiththathaanaal, naan athaiyum avar vaasasthalaththaiyum paarkkiratharku, ennaiththirumpa varappannnuvaar. And the king said unto Zadok, Carry back the ark of God into the city: if I shall find favor in the eyes of the LORD, he will bring me again, and show me both it, and his habitation:

26 Avar: unmael enakkup piriyamillai enpaaraakil, itho, ingae irukkiraேn; avar thammutaiya paarvaikku nalamaanapati enakkuch seyvaaraaka entan. But if he thus say, I have no delight in thee; behold, here am I, let him do to me as seemeth good unto him.

27 Pinnum raajaa aasaariyanaakiya saathokkai Nnokki: nee njaanathirushtikkaaran allavo? Nee samaathaanaththotae nakaraththirkuth thirumpu; un makan akimaasum apiyaththaarin makan yonaththaanumaakiya ungal kumaarar iranndupaerum ungalotaekoodath thirumpip pokattum. The king said also unto Zadok the priest, Art not thou a seer? return into the city in peace, and your two sons with you, Ahimaaz thy son, and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.

28 Enakku arivikkiratharku ungalidaththilirunthu seythivarumattum, naan vanaantharaththin velikalilae thariththiruppaen entan. See, I will tarry in the plain of the wilderness, until there come word from you to certify me.

29 Appatiyae saathokkum apiyaththaarum thaevanutaiya pettiyai erusalaemukkuth thirumpak konndupoy, angae irunthaarkal. Zadok therefore and Abiathar carried the ark of God again to Jerusalem: and they tarried there.

30 David than mukaththai mooti, veraுngaalaal nadanthu aluthukonndu olivamalaiyinmael aeripponaan; avanotiruntha sakala janangalum mukathkaimooti aluthukonndu aerinaarkal. And David went up by the ascent of mount Olivet, and wept as he went up, and had his head covered, and he went barefoot: and all the people that was with him covered every man his head, and they went up, weeping as they went up.

31 Apsalomotae kattuppaadupannnninavarkaludan akiththoppaelum sernthirukkiraan entu Davidkku arivikkappattapothu, David, karththaavae, akiththoppaelin aalosanaiyaip payiththiyamaakkividuveeraaka entan. And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.

32 David malaiyin uchchimattumvanthu, angae thaevanaip panninthukonndapothu, itho, arkiyanaakiya oosaay than vasthiraththaik kiliththukkonndu, thalaiyinmael puluthiyaippottukkonndavanaay avanukku ethirppattan. And it came to pass, that when David was come to the top of the mount, where he worshipped God, behold, Hushai the Archite came to meet him with his coat rent, and earth upon his head:

33 David avanaip paarththu: nee ennotaekooda nadanthuvanthaal enakkup paaramaayiruppaay. Unto whom David said, If thou passest on with me, then thou shalt be a burden unto me:

34 Nee nakaraththirkuth thirumpippoy, apsalomai Nnokki: raajaavae, ummutaiya ooliyakkaaranaayiruppaen; munpu naan ummutaiya thakappanukku ooliyakkaaranaayirunthaen; ippothu naan umakku ooliyakkaaran entayaeyaakil, enakkaaka akiththoppaelin aalosanaiyai apaththamaakkuvaay. But if thou return to the city, and say unto Absalom, I will be thy servant, O king; as I have been thy father's servant hitherto, so will I now also be thy servant: then mayest thou for me defeat the counsel of Ahithophel.

35 Unnotae angae saathok apiyaththaar ennum aasaariyarkal irukkiraarkal allavaa? Raajaavin veettilae pirakkira aethaethu seythi unntoo, ennenna kaelvippadukiraayo, athaiyellaam saathok apiyaththaar ennum aasaariyarkalukku arivippaay. And hast thou not there with thee Zadok and Abiathar the priests? therefore it shall be, that what thing soever thou shalt hear out of the king's house, thou shalt tell it to Zadok and Abiathar the priests.

36 Angae avarkalotae saathokkin makan akimaasum apiyaththaarin makan yonaththaanum, avarkal iranndu kumaararum irukkiraarkal; neengal kaelvippadukira seythiyaiyellaam avarkalvasamaay enakku anuppuveerkalaaka entan. Behold, they have there with them their two sons, Ahimaaz Zadok's son, and Jonathan Abiathar's son; and by them ye shall send unto me every thing that ye can hear.

37 Appatiyae thaaveethin sinaekithanaakiya oosaay nakaraththirku vanthaan; apsalomum erusalaemukku vanthaan. So Hushai David's friend came into the city, and Absalom came into Jerusalem.
