இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா அந்த நிருபத்தை வாசித்தபோது, அவன் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு: ஒரு மனுஷனை அவன் குஷ்டரோகத்தினின்று நீக்கி விடவேண்டும் என்று, அவன் என்னிடத்தில் நிருபம் அனுப்புகிறதற்கு, கொல்லவும் உயிர்ப்பிக்கவும் நான் தேவனா? இவன் என்னை விரோதிக்க சமயம் தேடுகிறான் என்பதைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள் என்றான்.

இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜா அந்த கடிதத்தை வாசித்தபோது, அவன் தன் உடைகளைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு: ஒரு மனிதனை தொழுநோயிலிருந்து சுகப்படுத்தவேண்டும் என்று, அவன் என்னிடத்தில் கடிதம் அனுப்புகிறதற்கு, கொல்லவும் உயிர்ப்பிக்கவும் நான் தேவனா? இவன் என்னை விரோதிக்க வாய்ப்பைத் தேடுகிறான் என்பதைச் சிந்தித்துப்பாருங்கள் என்றான்.

இஸ்ரவேல் அரசன் கடிதத்தை வாசித்ததும் வருத்தப்பட்டு தனது ஆடைகளைக் கிழித்தான். தனது வருத்தத்தை வெளிப்படுத்த. அவன், “நான் தேவனா? இல்லை. மரணத்தின் மீதும் வாழ்வின் மீதும் எனக்கு அதிகாரமில்லை. அப்படியிருக்க ஆராம் அரசன் என்னிடம் ஒரு தொழுநோயாளியைக் குணப்படுத்த ஏன் அனுப்பினான்? இதைப் பற்றி நினைத்துப்பார்க்க வேண்டும். இது ஒரு தந்திரம்தான். ஒரு போரை ஆரம்பிக்கவே ஆராம் அரசன் முயற்சி செய்கிறான்” என்றான்.

Isravaelin raajaa antha nirupaththai vaasiththapothu, avan than vasthirangalaik kiliththukkonndu: oru manushanai avan kushdarokaththinintu neekki vidavaenndum entu, avan ennidaththil nirupam anuppukiratharku, kollavum uyirppikkavum naan thaevanaa? Ivan ennai virothikka samayam thaedukiraan enpathaich sinthiththuppaarungal entan.

to kill לְהָמִ֣ית mût moot
and to make alive, וּֽלְהַחֲי֔וֹת ḥāyâ ha-YA
that כִּי kî kee
this man זֶה֙ ze zeh
doth send שֹׁלֵ֣חַ šālaḥ sha-LAHK
unto אֵלַ֔י ʾēl ale
me to recover לֶֽאֱסֹ֥ף ʾāsap ah-SAHF
a man אִ֖ישׁ ʾîš eesh
of his leprosy? מִצָּֽרַעְתּ֑וֹ ṣāraʿat tsa-ra-AT
