மோவாபின் ராஜா எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணினான்; மோவாபியர்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ண, என்னோடேகூட வருகிறீரா என்று யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோசபாத்தைக் கேட்டனுப்பினதற்கு; அவன் நான் வருகிறேன்; நான் தான் நீர், என்னுடைய ஜனங்கள் உம்முடைய ஜனங்கள், என்னுடைய குதிரைகள் உம்முடைய குதிரைகள் என்றான்.

பின்பு ஒரு நாள் எலிசா சூனேமுக்குப் போயிருக்கும்போது, அங்கேயிருந்த கனம்பொருந்திய ஒரு பெண் அவனை சாப்பிட வருந்திக் கேட்டுக்கொண்டாள்; அப்படியே அவன் பிரயாணமாக வருகிறபோதெல்லாம் சாப்பிடுவதற்காக அங்கே வந்து தங்குவான்.

ஒரு நாள் எலிசா சூனேமுக்குச் சென்றான். அங்கு ஒரு முக்கியமான பெண் இருந்தாள். அவள் எலிசாவை (தடுத்து) தன் வீட்டில் உணவு உண்ண அழைத்தாள். எனவே ஒவ்வொரு நேரமும் அவர் அந்த வழியாகப் போகும்போதெல்லாம் அவன் உணவு உண்பதற்காக நிறுத்தப்பட்டான்.
