4 மோவாபின் ராஜாவாகிய மேசா ஆடுமாடுகள் பெருத்தவனாயிருந்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவுக்கு இலட்சம் ஆட்டுக்குட்டிகளையும், இலட்சம் குறும்பாட்டுக் கடாக்களையும் செலுத்திவந்தான்.
5 ஆகாப் இறந்துபோனபின் மோவாபின் ராஜா இஸ்ரவேலின் ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம் பண்ணினான்.
6 அக்காலத்திலே யோராம் என்னும் ராஜா சமாரியாவிலிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, இஸ்ரவேலையெல்லாம் இலக்கம் பார்த்துப்போய்;
7 மோவாபின் ராஜா எனக்கு விரோதமாய்க் கலகம்பண்ணினான்; மோவாபியர்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ண, என்னோடேகூட வருகிறீரா என்று யூதாவின் ராஜாவாகிய யோசபாத்தைக் கேட்டனுப்பினதற்கு; அவன் நான் வருகிறேன்; நான் தான் நீர், என்னுடைய ஜனங்கள் உம்முடைய ஜனங்கள், என்னுடைய குதிரைகள் உம்முடைய குதிரைகள் என்றான்.
4 And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool.
5 But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel.
6 And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel.
7 And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses.
