1 அகசியாவின் தாயாகிய அத்தாலியாள் தன் குமாரன் இறந்துபோனதைக் கண்டபோது, எழும்பி ராஜவம்சஸ்தர் யாவரையும் சங்காரம் பண்ணினாள். And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.

2 யோராம் என்னும் ராஜாவின் குமாரத்தியும் அகசியாவின் சகோதரியுமாகிய யோசேபாள், கொலையுண்ணப்படுகிற ராஜகுமாரரின் நடுவிலிருக்கிற அகசியாவின் மகனாகிய யோவாசைக் களவாய் எடுத்தாள்; அவன் கொல்லப்படாதபடி, அவனையும் அவன் தாதியையும் அத்தாலியாளுக்குத் தெரியாமல் பள்ளி அறையில் ஒளித்து வைத்தார்கள். But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain.

And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of the king's house;

6 மூன்றில் ஒருபங்கு சூர் என்னும் வாசலிலும், மூன்றில் ஒருபங்கு காவலாளரின் காவலின் பிறகே இருக்கிற வாசலிலுமிருந்து ஆலயக்காவலைப் பத்திரமாய்க் காக்கவேண்டும். And a third part shall be at the gate of Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the guard: so shall ye keep the watch of the house, that it be not broken down.

7 இப்படியே ஓய்வுநாளில் முறைப்படியே உங்களில் இரண்டுபங்குபேர், ராஜாவினிடத்தில் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைக் காவல் காக்கவேண்டும். And two parts of all you that go forth on the sabbath, even they shall keep the watch of the house of the LORD about the king.

8 நீங்கள் அவரவர் தங்கள் ஆயுதங்களைக் கையிலே பிடித்தவர்களாய், ராஜாவைச் சுற்றிலும் வரிசையாய் நின்று கொண்டிருக்கவேண்டும்; வரிசைகளுக்குள் புகுந்துவருகிறவன்; கொலைசெய்யப்படக்கடவன்; ராஜா வெளியே போகும்போதும் உள்ளே வரும்போதும் நீங்கள் அவரோடே இருங்கள் என்றான். And ye shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that cometh within the ranges, let him be slain: and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in.

9 ஆசாரியனாகிய யோய்தா கட்டளையிட்டபடியெல்லாம் நூறுபேருக்கு அதிபதிகள் செய்து, அவரவர் ஓய்வுநாளில் முறைப்படி வருகிறவர்களும் முறைப்படி போகிறவர்களுமாகிய தங்கள் மனுஷரைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டு, ஆசாரியனாகிய யோய்தாவினிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள். And the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that should go out on the sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.

11 காவலாளர் அவரவர் தங்கள் ஆயுதங்களைப் பிடித்தவர்களாய், ஆலயத்தின் வலதுபக்கம்தொடங்கி அதின் இடதுபக்கமட்டும், பலிபீடத்திற்கு எதிராகவும் ஆலயத்திற்கு எதிராகவும் ராஜாவைச் சுற்றிலும் நின்றார்கள். And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple.

12 அப்பொழுது அவன்: ராஜகுமாரனை வெளியே கொண்டுவந்து, கிரீடத்தை அவன்மேல் வைத்து, சாட்சியின் ஆகமத்தை அவன் கையிலே கொடுத்தான்; இப்படி அவனை ராஜாவாக்கி அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி: ராஜா வாழ்க என்று சொல்லி கைகொட்டினார்கள். And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.

13 ஓடிவருகிற ஜனங்கள் செய்த ஆரவாரத்தை அத்தாலியாள் கேட்டபோது: அவள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு ஜனங்களிடத்தில் வந்து, And when Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she came to the people into the temple of the LORD.

And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.

But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that followeth her kill with the sword. For the priest had said, Let her not be slain in the house of the LORD.

16 அவர்கள் அவளுக்கு இடம் உண்டாக்கினபோது, ராஜாவின் அரமனைக்குள் குதிரைகள் பிரவேசிக்கிற வழியிலே அவள் போகையில், அவளைக் கொன்று போட்டார்கள். And they laid hands on her; and she went by the way by the which the horses came into the king's house: and there was she slain.

17 அப்பொழுது யோய்தா, அவர்கள் கர்த்தருடைய ஜனமாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, ராஜாவும் ஜனங்களும் கர்த்தரோடே உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணவும், ராஜாவும் ஜனங்களும் ஒருவரோடொருவர் உடன்படிக்கைபண்ணவும் செய்து, And Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people, that they should be the LORD's people; between the king also and the people.

And the priest appointed officers over the house of the LORD.

And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the LORD, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king's house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.

20 தேசத்தின் ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் மகிழ்ந்து நகரம் அமைதலாயிற்று. அத்தாலியாளையோ ராஜாவின் அரமனையண்டையில் பட்டயத்தால் கொன்றுபோட்டார்கள். And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king's house.

21 யோவாஸ் ராஜாவாகிறபோது ஏழு வயதாயிருந்தான். Seven years old was Jehoash when he began to reign.

1 Akasiyaavin thaayaakiya aththaaliyaal than kumaaran iranthuponathaik kanndapothu, elumpi raajavamsasthar yaavaraiyum sangaaram pannnninaal. And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal.

2 Yoraam ennum raajaavin kumaaraththiyum akasiyaavin sakothariyumaakiya yosepaal, kolaiyunnnappadukira raajakumaararin naduvilirukkira akasiyaavin makanaakiya yovaasaik kalavaay eduththaal; avan kollappadaathapati, avanaiyum avan thaathiyaiyum aththaaliyaalukkuth theriyaamal palli araiyil oliththu vaiththaarkal. 3 Ivalotaekooda avan aaraுvarusham karththarutaiya aalayaththil oliththuvaikkappattirunthaan; aththaaliyaal thaesaththinmael raajyapaarampannnninaan. And he was with her hid in the house of the LORD six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land.

4 Aelaam varushaththilae yoythaa nooraு paerukku athipathikalaiyum thalaivaraiyum kaavalaalaraiyum alaippiththu, avarkalaith thannidaththil karththarutaiya aalayaththilae varachchaொlli, avarkalodu udanpatikkaipannnni, avarkalaik karththarutaiya aalayaththilae aannaiyiduviththuk konndu, avarkalukku raajaavin kumaaranaik kaannpiththu, And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the LORD, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the LORD, and showed them the king's son.

5 Avarkalai Nnokki: neengal seyyavaenntiya kaariyam ennavental, oyvunaalil muraippati ingae varukira ungalil moontil orupangu raajaavin aramanaik kaaval kaakkavaenndum. And he commanded them, saying, This is the thing that ye shall do; A third part of you that enter in on the sabbath shall even be keepers of the watch of the king's house;

6 Moontil orupangu soor ennum vaasalilum, moontil orupangu kaavalaalarin kaavalin pirakae irukkira vaasalilumirunthu aalayakkaavalaip paththiramaayk kaakkavaenndum. And a third part shall be at the gate of Sur; and a third part at the gate behind the guard: so shall ye keep the watch of the house, that it be not broken down.

7 Ippatiyae oyvunaalil muraippatiyae ungalil iranndupangupaer, raajaavinidaththil karththarutaiya aalayaththaik kaaval kaakkavaenndum. And two parts of all you that go forth on the sabbath, even they shall keep the watch of the house of the LORD about the king.

8 Neengal avaravar thangal aayuthangalaik kaiyilae pitiththavarkalaay, raajaavaich suttilum varisaiyaay nintu konntirukkavaenndum; varisaikalukkul pukunthuvarukiravan; kolaiseyyappadakkadavan; raajaa veliyae pokumpothum ullae varumpothum neengal avarotae irungal entan. And ye shall compass the king round about, every man with his weapons in his hand: and he that cometh within the ranges, let him be slain: and be ye with the king as he goeth out and as he cometh in.

9 Aasaariyanaakiya yoythaa kattalaiyittapatiyellaam nooraுpaerukku athipathikal seythu, avaravar oyvunaalil muraippati varukiravarkalum muraippati pokiravarkalumaakiya thangal manusharaik koottikkonndu, aasaariyanaakiya yoythaavinidaththil vanthaarkal. And the captains over the hundreds did according to all things that Jehoiada the priest commanded: and they took every man his men that were to come in on the sabbath, with them that should go out on the sabbath, and came to Jehoiada the priest.

10 Aasaariyan karththarin aalayaththil Davidraajaa vaiththiruntha eettikalaiyum kaedakangalaiyum nooraுpaerukku athipathikalidaththil koduththaan. And to the captains over hundreds did the priest give king David's spears and shields, that were in the temple of the LORD.

11 Kaavalaalar avaravar thangal aayuthangalaip pitiththavarkalaay, aalayaththin valathupakkamthodangi athin idathupakkamattum, palipeedaththirku ethiraakavum aalayaththirku ethiraakavum raajaavaich suttilum nintarkal. And the guard stood, every man with his weapons in his hand, round about the king, from the right corner of the temple to the left corner of the temple, along by the altar and the temple.

12 Appoluthu avan: raajakumaaranai veliyae konnduvanthu, kireedaththai avanmael vaiththu, saatchiyin aakamaththai avan kaiyilae koduththaan; ippati avanai raajaavaakki apishaekampannnni: raajaa vaalka entu solli kaikottinaarkal. And he brought forth the king's son, and put the crown upon him, and gave him the testimony; and they made him king, and anointed him; and they clapped their hands, and said, God save the king.

13 Otivarukira janangal seytha aaravaaraththai aththaaliyaal kaettapothu: aval karththarutaiya aalayaththirku janangalidaththil vanthu, And when Athaliah heard the noise of the guard and of the people, she came to the people into the temple of the LORD.

14 Itho, raajaa muraimaiyinpatiyae thoonanntaiyilae nirkirathaiyum, raajaavanntaiyil nirkira pirapukkalaiyum, ekkaalam oothukiravarkalaiyum, thaesaththu janangal ellaarum santhoshappattu ekkaalam oothukirathaiyum kanndavudanae, aththaaliyaal than vasthirangalaik kiliththukkonndu: thurokam thurokam entu koovinaal. And when she looked, behold, the king stood by a pillar, as the manner was, and the princes and the trumpeters by the king, and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew with trumpets: and Athaliah rent her clothes, and cried, Treason, Treason.

15 Aasaariyanaakiya yoythaa raanuvaththalaivaraakiya nooraுpaerukku athipathikalaanavarkalukkuk kattalaiyittu: ivalai varisaikalukkup purampae konndupongal; ivalaip pinpattaுkiravanaip pattayaththaalae vettippodungal entan. Karththarutaiya aalayaththil avalaik kollalaakaathu entu aasaariyan solliyirunthaan. But Jehoiada the priest commanded the captains of the hundreds, the officers of the host, and said unto them, Have her forth without the ranges: and him that followeth her kill with the sword. 17 Appoluthu yoythaa, avarkal karththarutaiya janamaayirukkumpatikku, raajaavum janangalum karththarotae udanpatikkaipannnavum, raajaavum janangalum oruvarotoruvar udanpatikkaipannnavum seythu, And Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD and the king and the people, that they should be the LORD's people; between the king also and the people.

18 Pinpu thaesaththin janangal ellaarum paakaalin kovilil poy, athai itiththu, athin palipeedangalaiyum athin vikkirakangalaiyum muttilum utaiththu, paakaalin poojaasaariyaakiya maaththaanaip palipeedangalukku munpaakak kontu pottarkal. Aasaariyan karththarutaiya aalayaththai visaarikkum uththiyokastharai aerpaduththinaan. 19 Nooraுpaerukku athipathikalaiyum thalaivaraiyum kaavalaalaraiyum thaesaththin janangalaiyum kootti, raajaavaik karththarutaiya aalayaththilirunthu irangap pannnni, avanaik kaavalaalarin vaasal valiyaay raaja aramanaikku alaiththuk konnduponaarkal; angae avan raajaakkalutaiya singaasanaththinmael utkaarnthaan. And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the LORD, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king's house. And he sat on the throne of the kings.

20 Thaesaththin janangal ellaarum makilnthu nakaram amaithalaayittaு. Aththaaliyaalaiyo raajaavin aramanaiyanntaiyil pattayaththaal kontupottarkal. And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king's house.

21 Yovaas raajaavaakirapothu aelu vayathaayirunthaan. Seven years old was Jehoash when he began to reign.
