கிறிஸ்துவின் உபதேசத்திலே நிலைத்திராமல் மீறி நடக்கிற எவனும் தேவனை உடையவனல்ல; கிறிஸ்துவின் உபதேசத்தில் நிலைத்திருக்கிறவனோ பிதாவையும் குமாரனையும் உடையவன்.

கிறிஸ்துவின் போதனைகளை மட்டுமே பின்பற்றுவதை ஒருவன் தொடரவேண்டும். கிறிஸ்துவின் போதனைகளை ஒருவன் மாற்றினால், அம்மனிதனிடம் தேவன் இல்லை. ஆனால் தேவனின் போதனைகளைத் தொடர்ந்து ஒரு மனிதன் பின்பற்றினால், அம்மனிதன் பிதா, குமாரன் ஆகிய இருவரையும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்கிறான்.

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.

Whosoever goeth onward and abideth not in the teaching of Christ, hath not God: he that abideth in the teaching, the same hath both the Father and the Son.
