ஆதலால் அவர் அவர்கள்மேல் கல்தேயரின் ராஜாவை வரப்பண்ணினார்; அவன் அவர்கள் வாலிபரை அவர்களுடைய பரிசுத்தமான ஆலயத்திலே பட்டயத்தினால் கொன்று, வாலிபரையும் கன்னியாஸ்திரீகளையும் முதியோரையும் விருத்தாப்பியரையும் தப்பவிடவில்லை; எல்லாரையும் தேவன் அவன் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்.

எனவே தேவன் பாபிலோனின் அரசனை யூதா மற்றும் எருசலேம் ஜனங்களைத் தாக்கிட அழைத்து வந்தார். பாபிலோன் அரசன் இளைஞர்களை அவர்கள் ஆலயத்தில் இருந்த போதுங்கூட கொன்றான். அவன் யூதா மற்றும் எருசலேம் ஜனங்களிடம் இரக்கம் காட்டவில்லை. பாபிலோனிய அரசன் இளைஞர்கள், முதியவர்கள், ஆண்கள், பெண்கள், நோயாளிகள், ஆரோக்கியமுடையவர்கள் என அனைவரையும் கொன்றான். யூதா மற்றும் எருசலேம் ஜனங்களைத் தண்டிக்கும்படி தேவன் நேபுகாத்நேச்சரை விட்டுவிட்டார்.
