1 அப்பொழுது யூதா ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் பதினாறு வயதான உசியாவை அழைத்துவந்து, அவனை அவன் தகப்பனாகிய அமத்சியாவின் ஸ்தானத்திலே ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள். Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.

2 ராஜா தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடைந்தபின்பு, இவன் ஏலோதைக் கட்டி, அதைத் திரும்ப யூதாவின் வசமாக்கிக்கொண்டான். He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.

3 உசியா ராஜாவாகிறபோது, பதினாறு வயதாயிருந்து, ஐம்பத்திரண்டு வருஷம் எருசலேமில் அரசாண்டான்; எருசலேம் நகரத்தாளான அவன் தாயின்பேர் எக்கோலியாள். Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

4 அவன் தன் தகப்பனாகிய அமத்சியா செய்தபடியெல்லாம் கர்த்தரின் பார்வைக்குச் செம்மையானதைச் செய்து, And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.

And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

7 பெலிஸ்தரையும் கூர்பாகாலிலே குடியிருக்கிற அரபியரையும் மெகுனியரையும் வெல்ல, தேவன் அவனுக்குத் துணைநின்றார். And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims.

8 அம்மோனியர் உசியாவுக்குக் காணிக்கைகளைக் கொடுத்தார்கள்; அவனுடைய கீர்த்தி எகிப்தின் எல்லைமட்டும் எட்டினது; அவன் மிகவும் பெலங்கொண்டான். And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly.

9 உசியா எருசலேமிலே மூலைவாசல்மேலும், பள்ளத்தாக்கு வாசல்மேலும், அலங்கத்துக் கோடிகள்மேலும் கோபுரங்களைக் கட்டி அவைகளைப் பலப்படுத்தினான். Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.

10 அவனுக்குப் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலும் சமபூமியிலும் அநேம் ஆடுமாடுகளும், மலைகளிலேயும் வயல்வெளியிலேயும் பயிர்க்குடிகளும், திராட்சத்தோட்டக்காரரும் உண்டாயிருந்தபடியினால், அவன் வனாந்தரத்திலே கோபுரங்களைக் கட்டி, அநேக துரவுகளை வெட்டினான்; அவன் வெள்ளாண்மைப் பிரியனாயிருந்தான். Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry.

11 உசியாவுக்கு யுத்தவீரரின் சேனையுமிருந்தது; அது சம்பிரதியாகிய எயெலினாலும் ஆதிக்கக்காரனாகிய மாசேயாவினாலும் இலக்கம்பார்க்கப்பட்டபடியே, ராஜாவின் பிரபுக்களில் ஒருவனாகிய அனனியாவின்கீழ் வகுப்பு வகுப்பாய்ச் சேவகம்பண்ணப் புறப்பட்டது. Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king's captains.

12 பராக்கிரமசாலிகளான வம்சத்தலைவரின் தொகையெல்லாம் இரண்டாயிரத்து அறுநூறு. The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valor were two thousand and six hundred.

13 இவர்கள் கையின்கீழ்ச் சத்துருக்களுக்கு விரோதமாக ராஜாவுக்குத் துணைநிற்க, பராக்கிரமத்தோடே யுத்தம்பண்ணுகிற மூன்றுலட்சத்து ஏழாயிரத்து ஐந்நூறுபேரான சேனை இருந்தது. And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.

14 இந்தச் சேனையிலுள்ளவருக்கெல்லாம் உசியா கேடகங்களையும், ஈட்டிகளையும், தலைச்சீராக்களையும், மார்க்கவசங்களையும், வில்லுகளையும், கல்லெறிகிற கவண்களையும் ஆயத்தப்படுத்தினான். And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.

15 கோபுரங்கள்மேலும் அலங்கக்கோடிகள்மேலும் நின்று அம்புகளையும் பெரிய கற்களையும் பிரயோகிக்கிறதற்கு நிபுணரான தொழிலாளிகள் கற்பித்த யந்திரங்களையும் அவன் எருசலேமில் உண்டாக்கினான்; அப்படியே அவன் கீர்த்தி வெகுதூரம் பரம்பிற்று; அவன் பலப்படுமட்டும் ஆச்சரியமாய் அவனுக்கு அநுகூலமுண்டாயிற்று. And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvelously helped, till he was strong.

But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

17 ஆசாரியனாகிய அசரியாவும், அவனோடேகூடக் கர்த்தரின் ஆசாரியரான பராக்கிரமசாலிகளாகிய எண்பதுபேரும், அவன் பிறகே உட்பிரவேசித்து, And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:

18 ராஜாவாகிய உசியாவோடு எதிர்த்துநின்று: உசியாவே, கர்த்தருக்குத் தூபங்காட்டுகிறது உமக்கு அடுத்ததல்ல; தூபங்காட்டுகிறது பரிசுத்தமாக்கப்பட்ட ஆரோனின் குமாரராகிய ஆசாரியருக்கே அடுக்கும்; பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தை விட்டுவெளியே போம்; மீறுதல் செய்தீர்; இது தேவனாகிய கர்த்தராலே உமக்கு மேன்மையாக லபியாது என்றார்கள். And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the LORD, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honor from the LORD God.

19 அப்பொழுது உசியா கோபங்கொண்டான்; அவன் தூபகலசத்தைத் தன் கையிலே பிடித்து, ஆசாரியரோடே கோபமாய்ப் பேசுகிறபோது ஆசாரியருக்கு முன்பாகக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திலே தூபபீடத்தின் முன்நிற்கிற அவனுடைய நெற்றியிலே குஷ்டரோகம் தோன்றிற்று. Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.

20 பிரதான ஆசாரியனாகிய அசரியாவும் சகல ஆசாரியரும் அவனைப் பார்க்கும்போது, இதோ, அவன் தன் நெற்றியிலே குஷ்டரோகம் பிடித்தவனென்றுகண்டு, அவனைத் தீவிரமாய் அங்கிருந்து வெளிப்படப்பண்ணினார்கள்; கர்த்தர் தன்னை அடித்ததினால் அவன் தானும் வெளியேபோகத் தீவிரப்பட்டான். And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.

21 ராஜாவாகிய உசியா தன் மரணநாள்மட்டும் குஷ்டரோகியாயிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்துக்குப் புறம்பாக்கப்பட்டபடியினால், ஒரு தனித்த வீட்டிலே குஷ்டரோகியாய் வாசம்பண்ணினான்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோதாம் ராஜாவின் அரமனை விசாரிப்புக்காரனாயிருந்து, தேசத்தின் ஜனங்களை நியாயம்விசாரித்தான். And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

22 உசியாவின் ஆதியோடந்த நடபடியான மற்ற வர்த்தமானங்களை ஆமோத்சின் குமாரனாகிய ஏசாயா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசி எழுதினான். Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.

23 உசியா தன் பிதாக்களோடே நித்திரையடந்தபின்பு, ஜனங்கள் அவனைக் குஷ்டரோகியென்று சொல்லி, அவனை அவன் பிதாக்களண்டையில், ராஜாக்களை அடக்கம்பண்ணுகிற இடத்திற்கு அருகான நிலத்திலே அடக்கம்பண்ணினார்கள்; அவன் குமாரனாகிய யோதாம் அவன் ஸ்தானத்தில் ராஜாவானான். So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

1 Appoluthu yoothaa janangal ellaarum pathinaaraு vayathaana usiyaavai alaiththuvanthu, avanai avan thakappanaakiya amathsiyaavin sthaanaththilae raajaavaakkinaarkal. Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.

2 Raajaa than pithaakkalotae niththiraiyatainthapinpu, ivan aelothaik katti, athaith thirumpa yoothaavin vasamaakkikkonndaan. He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.

3 Usiyaa raajaavaakirapothu, pathinaaraு vayathaayirunthu, aimpaththiranndu varusham erusalaemil arasaanndaan; Jerusalem nakaraththaalaana avan thaayinpaer ekkoliyaal. Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

4 Avan than thakappanaakiya amathsiyaa seythapatiyellaam karththarin paarvaikkuch semmaiyaanathaich seythu, And he did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

5 Thaevanutaiya tharisanangalil puththimaanaayiruntha sakariyaavin naatkalilae thaevanaith thaeda manathinangiyirunthaan; avan karththaraith thaetina naatkalil Dhevan avan kaariyangalai vaaykkach seythaar. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the LORD, God made him to prosper.

6 Avan purappattuppoy, pelistharodu yuththampannnni, kaaththin alangaththaiyum, yapnaeyin alangaththaiyum, asthin alangaththaiyum itiththuppottu, asthoth naattilum pelistharukkullum pattanangalaik kattinaan. 10 Avanukkup pallaththaakkilum samapoomiyilum anaem aadumaadukalum, malaikalilaeyum vayalveliyilaeyum payirkkutikalum, thiraatchaththottakkaararum unndaayirunthapatiyinaal, avan vanaantharaththilae kopurangalaik katti, anaeka thuravukalai vettinaan; avan vellaannmaip piriyanaayirunthaan. 11 Usiyaavukku yuththaveerarin senaiyumirunthathu; athu sampirathiyaakiya eyelinaalum aathikkakkaaranaakiya maaseyaavinaalum ilakkampaarkkappattapatiyae, raajaavin pirapukkalil oruvanaakiya ananiyaavingeel vakuppu vakuppaaych sevakampannnap purappattathu. 14 Inthach senaiyilullavarukkellaam usiyaa kaedakangalaiyum, eettikalaiyum, thalaichchaீraakkalaiyum, maarkkavasangalaiyum, villukalaiyum, kallerikira kavannkalaiyum aayaththappaduththinaan. 15 Kopurangalmaelum alangakkotikalmaelum nintu ampukalaiyum periya karkalaiyum pirayokikkiratharku nipunaraana tholilaalikal karpiththa yanthirangalaiyum avan erusalaemil unndaakkinaan; appatiyae avan geerththi vekuthooram parampittaு; avan palappadumattum aachchariyamaay avanukku anukoolamunndaayittaு. 16 Avan palappattapothu, thanakkukkaedunndaakumattum, avanutaiya manammaettimaiyaaki, than thaevanaakiya karththarukku virothamaaka meeraுthal seythu thoopapeedaththinmael thoopangaatta karththarutaiya aalayaththirkul piravaesiththaan. But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the LORD his God, and went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

17 Aasaariyanaakiya asariyaavum, avanotaekoodak karththarin aasaariyaraana paraakkiramasaalikalaakiya ennpathupaerum, avan pirakae utpiravaesiththu, And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the LORD, that were valiant men:

18 Raajaavaakiya usiyaavodu ethirththunintu: usiyaavae, karththarukkuth thoopangaattukirathu umakku aduththathalla; thoopangaattukirathu Parisuththamaakkappatta aaronin kumaararaakiya aasaariyarukkae adukkum; Parisuththa sthalaththai vittuveliyae pom; meeraுthal seytheer; ithu thaevanaakiya karththaraalae umakku maenmaiyaaka lapiyaathu entarkal. 19 Appoluthu usiyaa kopangaொnndaan; avan thoopakalasaththaith than kaiyilae pitiththu, aasaariyarotae kopamaayp paesukirapothu aasaariyarukku munpaakak karththarutaiya aalayaththilae thoopapeedaththin munnirkira avanutaiya nettiyilae kushdarokam thontittaு. Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.

20 Pirathaana aasaariyanaakiya asariyaavum sakala aasaariyarum avanaip paarkkumpothu, itho, avan than nettiyilae kushdarokam pitiththavanentukanndu, avanaith theeviramaay angirunthu velippadappannnninaarkal; Karththar thannai atiththathinaal avan thaanum veliyaepokath theevirappattan. And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the LORD had smitten him.

21 Raajaavaakiya usiyaa than marananaalmattum kushdarokiyaayirunthu karththarutaiya aalayaththukkup purampaakkappattapatiyinaal, oru thaniththa veettilae kushdarokiyaay vaasampannnninaan; avan kumaaranaakiya yothaam raajaavin aramanai visaarippukkaaranaayirunthu, thaesaththin janangalai niyaayamvisaariththaan. And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD: and Jotham his son was over the king's house, judging the people of the land.

22 Usiyaavin aathiyodantha nadapatiyaana matta varththamaanangalai aamothsin kumaaranaakiya aesaayaa ennum theerkkatharisi eluthinaan. Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.

So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.
