1 இராஜாக்கள் 20:9
அதினால் அவன் பெனாதாத்தின் ஸ்தானாபதிகளை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனுக்குச் சொல்லவேண்டியது என்னவென்றால், நீர் முதல் விசை உமது அடியானுக்குச் சொல்லியனுப்பின யாவும் செய்வேன்; இந்தக் காரியத்தையோ நான் செய்யக் கூடாது என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்; ஸ்தானாபதிகள் போய், இந்த மறுமொழியை அவனுக்குச் சொன்னார்கள்.

அப்படியே நான் நதிக்கு மறுபுறத்திலிருக்கிற ஆளுநர்களிடத்திற்கு வந்து, ராஜாவின் கடிதங்களை அவர்களுக்குக் கொடுத்தேன்; ராஜா என்னோடு இராணுவ அதிகாரிகளையும், குதிரைவீரர்களையும் அனுப்பியிருந்தார்.
