அந்த வழியே கடந்துவருகிற மனுஷர், வழியிலே கிடக்கிற பிரேதத்தையும், பிரேதத்தண்டையிலே நிற்கிற சிங்கத்தையும் கண்டு, கிழவனான தீர்க்கதரிசி குடியிருந்த பட்டணத்திலே வந்து சொன்னார்கள்.

ஆகையால் இஸ்ரவேல் மக்களே, நான் உங்களில் அவனவனை அவனவன் வழிகளுக்குத் தகுந்தபடி நியாயந்தீர்பேன் என்று கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் சொல்லுகிறார்; நீங்கள் மனந்திரும்புங்கள், உங்களுடைய எல்லா மீறுதல்களையும் விட்டுத் திரும்புங்கள்; அப்பொழுது அக்கிரமம் உங்களுடைய பொல்லாப்புக்கு காரணமாக இருப்பதில்லை.

ஏனென்றால், இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தாரே, நான் ஒவ்வொரு மனிதரையும் அவர்கள் செய்தவற்றுக்காகவே நியாயம் தீர்க்கிறேன்!” எனது கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவர் இவற்றைக் கூறினார். “எனவே என்னிடம் திரும்பி வாருங்கள்! அந்த அருவருப்பான பொருட்கள் (விக்கிரகங்கள்) உங்களைப் பாவம் செய்யத் தூண்ட அனுமதிக்காதீர்கள்!
